Talking about blowing money and number of visits, etc, I just received a gov't project payment for a significant portion of my work year's activity. Because they took soooooooo long to pay, I had to live on scraps most of the year. But, on the plus side, it being a gov't job, I was able to charge my "ultra-premium" per hour rates and they didn't blink! Well, the check came in and basically it has me set for 2013! But here's the funny part. The "first" thing I did when I saw the figure on the "Pay in the amount of" box was to figure out how many AMP visits (at $$ a pop) that would be, LOL! Funny thing is, I do that ALL the time. When checking my bank balance, or a fee proposal for a job, or whatever. I always convert the number to AMP visits.

Does anyone else do this?

Haha! It's not like I plan to blow it all on AMP visits, but somehow it puts whatever the number is into the perfect perspective as to its real world value. Hmmm... Me thinks I've been mongering too long!

I know this sounds like a weird thing, but I have tried to slow down before due to finances, and nothing else worked until this method. Seriously... having ALL banking accounts and debit cards with no room for play does wonders for your impulse spending, not just AMP spending. Just try it. You'll find it's harder to hand over paper money for stuff than plastic.

So, I don't really use a charge card (only 3 diff. Ones. 2 for business expenses{1 for trading; 1 for my business} which is easier to keep track; and a personal one for use.

Only to travel and Christmas) other than that I use $$$ ONLY. I use a similar system; One CU acct. Is for living expense to sustain life, bills,

And that is pretty much it; one one my bank bags I put at least 20% of all I make (work, trading, and poker; don't play 6-5 or FB like in the past, bad memories)

It is fast to save for me, any big purchases; truck, household stuff (foodie & love to cook) , electronics, I love to take pictures (way too much cameras) , I USE.

I pay for my daughter's private school as well as my 2 grandkids private school & 2 other grandkids preschool. I only started running loose again since.

My FWB / SO is out of town (Taiwan) to visit her mom, can't go because of work / personal obligations. The $$$ can be saved, but like trading, discipline is the key.

I did forget from my last post, I got an amazing massage from makamae (strong local) and even though YMMV, Marie in Palisades. I really never had issues.

I am a trader and monger too. I wonder what are you trading? Stock, option, currency?

I trade for years, of course I am not making money yet, but it is a hobby just like mongering or going to Vagas to gamble. As long as I am in control, not too extreme, everything is fine. Just like mongering, I do once a month. If I made some money in currency trading, I paid myself a bonus, one more time. Regarding those providers, I don't really respect them, they all just for the money, good money and taxes free. Once I lied to say I only had $, she changed it to HJ only. She is my regular, I thought she would let me in (FS) for an excuse of fund shortage. Not even once, no more to see her after that.

Of course, we are not in bad shape finacially, otherwise we can't monger, I am saying to all brothers here. But we need control our bad habbit or hobby, don't go too much in HNL, too expensive. Wanted to try a new provider and after reading and reading and thinking decided to try the 2 hotties Julie and Million. Both was dissapointing in service they were hot but service and attitude was not to my liking. Since I had such dissapointing service I am debating between the following:
