1. Money 2. Money 3. Money
last spring a roomful of impd brass and state and area functionaries sat down to be lectured by various professional anti-sex groups and texas le on the horrific invasion of dallas last year by international child sex-slavery, inc.
we can start by asking how they got this audience in the first place. the figures for dallas metro area solicitation arrests are a public record, and they'd already been compiled and published in the dallas morning news and elsewhere by that point. they claimed 105 arrests. that number included a dozen class c misdemeanor busts (solicitation is a class b misdemeanor in dallas) which look for all the world to've been included so the number would top 100. two of those arrested were ****. two. that's the sum total accomplishment of a task force headed by homeland security, and which included 14 state agencies as well as all the local leos.
no one can convince me that out of a roomful of peace officers and attorneys not one bothered to look at the actual arrest figures for last year's super bowl. it's true that this sort of thing plays well with some constituencies (probably more important that it's relayed without fact-checking by local media) , but the only major office up for grabs in that off-year was indianapolis mayor. as bfdeal has told us, there's not unlimited overtime funds sloshing around for the rank-and-file officer. the money's at the top (where it always is) , off the books, and its purpose is to maintain the appearance of a threat so the spigot doesn't get turned off. sure, the locals know picking up bp girls does nothing. they also know that, if they're ever called upon to explain it by the sleepy lapdog local press, they can announce they successfully scared off mr. big, thanks to their early response.
Still Couldn't Agree More.
Whatdafuq, correct me if I am wrong, but I think you meant to say,"Without OUR money how can they possibly protect us from ourselves?"
The money is at the top and there is always a politician with their hands in it. Without money how can they possibly protect us from ourselves.
And to think Jefferson gave up on the battle for term limitations!
