You also have the option to cover the full bail and as long as she complies and goes to court you will get the full bail back 100%.
So, as I see it and all that I am aware of, you can pay a bondsman a 10% fee you will never get back and give him collateral for the balance and if she skips you lose it all or pay to the county the full bail and if she complies you get it all back if she skips you lose it.
Really all the bondsmen does is charge you a fee to use his money if you don't have quick access or any access at all to the full bond amount, but make no mistake if they skip the bondman will get his money back.

In short, each charge will require a separate bond which usually is a minimum of $100 up to $1000 and then 10%. The charge of $2000 will be $200 and the charge of $250 will be $100 so you would need to post a total of $300. Since these are small amounts they should not ask for collateral but will require you to sign a Promissory Note and Indemnity Agreement (Signature Bond).
If she does not show up for court, they will go after you for the balance -- $2,250 - $300 = $1,950.

They wouldn't do that if a bond was posted though. The Bondsman would def get his money back. IDK how that would work if the bond was paid in cash. You'd hate to get stuck having to fork out the cash for the fine. Even if you didn't have to fork it out, chances are good that she would beg you to pay her fine for her. After all, she knows that you already have the cash since you've basically, spent it already getting her out on bail.

Well, when I was arrested many years ago, and not for soliciting. It was for reckless driving. I had to pay the bondsman 10% of the bond and he then posted my bond. That was his fee and I never got it back. I beat the charge. If I had skipped out on the bond the bondsman would have sent a bounty hunter to find me and bring me back.
So, again, I gave the 10% and never saw it even though I beat the charge.
I am no lawyer but I am pretty sure things have not changed.

But, what she wants from you I believe is to be out of jail while she waits for her trial, that's what the bond is for. Bond won't get her out of jail after sentencing if she has to serve time.

Poptall.[/QUOTE]Our system is designed so that you are innocent until proven guilty. Bond is supposed to be reasonable for the crime being prosecuted. If you cannot afford bond and happen to be found guilty of your crime, you get credit for sitting in jail. If you are on bond, you are not serving time. So for every 24 hours she has been in jail, she gets credit for one day served. Some states give you two days credit for misdemeanors. So if she has stayed a week before getting out on bail and her trial is a year from arrest? She can only get a week time served, unless of course bail is revoked. If the judge sentences her to two weeks, she will have to go back for a week. If she sat in jail for a year awaiting trial and the penalty for such a crime is usually 2 weeks, well that really sucks. But you will walk after trial for time served.

Lets say I just gave her the 10% or whatever is required just to get her out tonight, the burden would be on her shoulders to appear and I wouldn't be on the hook for the rest of the bond if she didn't, right?
It would be just like me bringing her money from her piggy bank so she could bail herself out, so why would I have to sign anything?

Otc.[/QUOTE]The only way you can get her out for 10% is by using a bondsman. Otherwise, you need to put up the full bond amount with the court. The bond agency will require her to put up collateral to make sure she does not skip out on the rest of the amount of the bail. If she can not afford the 10%, then I would think she would not have collateral to put up for security. If you are prepared to lose the total cost of the bail and think she is still worth it, only then would I put up the 10%.

Which is most likely for failure to aplear already. So as long as that's there, she's not going anywhere. So until that's settled or she is able to get bound on the first charge, she's stuck there.
