[b] This thread is a PM collaboration between CookyJar and me. I offered him the honors, as he is certainly the one with SW picture journalism seniority. However, he was gracious enough to allow me to have the honor of opening the thread.
Here are the rules of this thread for selecting a Philly area SW of the year: 2009.
1. This is a beauty contest only (not performance or any other measure).
2. Nomination Period: Nominations are open immediately and nominations will continue to be open through midnight, December 15th, after which nominations will be closed. Any member can post a nomination here and nominations may also be seconded. There will be one primary nomination permitted per member, although you may feel free to suggest favorites beyond your number one nomination for other members to consider nominating.
3. Voting Period: After the nomination period, which ends 12/15/09, the nominees will be voted upon, one vote per member. It is anticipated that the final voting process will he handled by the Admin, who has been conferred on this. That way the ballot casting can be secret and the winner a surprise. You will be informed of the procedures for the voting prior to December 15, 2009. The voting period will close midnight December 31, 2009 and the results will be announced as soon as practicable.
4. To nominate and vote a member must have established membership prior to 12/1/09.
5. All SWs with a pic and report during 2009 are eligible for nomination. Escorts are not excluded, but there must be at least one street pickup with a report and pic to be eligible. Since some SWs are known with the same names and different name spellings, it would be useful if you provided a link to the report and pic(s) you are nominating.
6. SWs may be anywhere in the Philadelphia/ Delaware Valley vicinity, most certainly including at a minimum the K, Torresdale, Old York Road and Camden strolls.

Mike, since Terri was your first choice, that will count as your nomination. One to a member. That also goes for Tom's nomination. His first nomination choice is Alexus. Tom, thanks for including a link.
That doesn't mean you only need mention one SW. It may give others ideas for nominations. But only one nomination per member will count.
I'm a midwest member and have never partaken of the talent in your areas, so I will stay out of the nomination process. I look forward to following this thread, however. This is a good idea to break from the norm and have a little fun.

I did review the entire year's pix to now. The attached two of Rocelle and one of Moyua seemed particularly striking to me. Perhaps someone else will want to nominate one of them. All pix are my repostings of existing pix after brightening them up. (My apologies for losing track of whose they are.)

This is a beauty contest and does not require that you have "partaken" of the talent. Even the members in the Philly area are nominating candidates they have never experienced. So, if you have an opinion, please feel free to give it. The more the merrier.

This is a great way to nominate, make your top choice and suggest other of your favorites for nomination by others.
