I can see how somebody in a more sensitive position could get caught up in the detectives sleazy tactics.

The best policy is always to not have anything to say, as even statements made proclaiming innocence can be misquoted at a later time by a less than honest detective trying to make a case, even a misdemeanor case. I've found that cops can have much less integrity than my dick.

The real meat and potatoes of the the operation was using a confidential informant (escort gone straight under penalty of jail) who attracted dates through those websites. The guys show up and just like you see on TV, the police roll in after "sex for money" is discussed. Now, you can cite chapter and verse of 1st Amendment rights but in those cases they usually have you dead to rights.

The important takeaway to all this is be careful who you exchange information with. OFC partially was successful because LE established a web presence and used it to extract background information as well as plant the seeds for the inevitable sting.

Took advantage of an email special with U.P. today, and WOW! If you read all the reviews on the esc site, they are right on. Emma is incredible. The pic on her site is very 'calm' so to speak. I'm not an expert on what happens during the bust, but I imagine if you never said anything specifically about the money and what its for, they probably couldn't get it to stick. They CAN however take you in. I would also say that your name probably would end up in the paper as well. They can take you in for "probable cause". That's all they need. I used to have someone that worked for our uncle and he straight up told me that he could take anyone in under that reason. They just have to justify later on what the cause was and could get an a** chewing if it wasn't good enough or if they can't get something to stick, or if its someone with ties with higher ups in the political ring.

All that being said I still wouldn't throw to much personal information, since they review these probably daily and could probably use it to have more to intimidate you with.
