I've had itching and redness/swelling of my penis, mostly the head and foreskin, for about a week, no discharge and no blisters that I can tell, just one small dot about the size of a pinhead under the head. Do any of you know of a clinic I can go to in the Hartford area to get checked out. I hate to think it's Herpes, but you never know. I don't want to go to my family doc. The only risk I've taken is bbbj 3 times with one provider and once with another. Could it be herpes?
Any walk in/urgent care medical clinic can handle that. I have used Hartford Medical Group on Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield and also the Middlesex Hospital Marlborough Medical Center in Marlborough (right off route 2) for simple stuff like an ear infection. I almost thought I had herpes once, but it was just a bad case of jock itch.

Go get it checked...
Why not your family doc? He/she can't share info or tell. But if you want them:

Recommendations?
I've got 2 to spend and need help. Should I go with Sophia, Lindsay, or an AMP? I've been "Lucky" before and was happy. Never tried Sophie or Lin.
Or should I go with 10 SW BJs?

I trust my personal physician, but I don't trust the front desk staff or the kid at the register at CVS. But I of course am a virgin so getting an STD is a mute point.

herpes update
Went to the doc yesterday, took one look, said, yep it's herpes. Did a blood test to confirm it, but when I asked if it could be anything else, she said, not really. I'll get the results in a couple of days.
I've been doing this for only a year, and I've only had bbbj from 2 women. NEVER anything else uncovered. How the hell do people go years doing this and not get anything? I feel like shit. Stupid stupid stupid!!!!!!!!

Jolly, that sucks, I feel your pain. I got Chlamadya (sp? ) earlier this year from BBBJ. Things at home got real bad for a while but are ok now. PM me if you think I can help in any way.
To answer your question I think most of the guys on this board have or have had something and are not letting on. That's ok I guess, it's not like we're kids and don't know the odds are against us.
Good luck,
Vegas

ah man
Jolly, I too am really sorry. I know nothing any of us can say or do will make the situation any easier for you. I hope that the test comes back negative. Visual tests are often negative, especially with diagnosing skin afflicitions. Was this a general MD or a STD specialist you went to?
Yes, like Vegas said, alot of us have been in your boat, though maybe not quite as bad. We are all playing russian roulette out there, and just hope it won't fuck things up in our personal lives (wifes, girlfriends, kids, jobs, etc).
So, chin up buddy, and good luck with that!

scared stiff
the herpes thing sucks big time! Usually the girl has to have visual lesions to be contagious. There are pills to control it. But there is no cure. And if you do like the TV ads, you can horseback wide in the Cayman Islands too!
Chlamydia and NGU have been the nasties I have gotten. Recent test for Hep B / C and HIV are all neg!
I think going to all covered is smart... But it doesn't always allow you to do what you want when you want.
I will be hoping your test comes back negative.

Thanks everyone
Thanks for all the support, it does help a lot. I am on the anti-viral drug now, and it should clear up the symptoms. See, that's what I don't understand, I've never had unprotected intercourse and never noticed anything on the women. The only uncovered I've had is a bbbj, so I guess you can get it that way, even without any signs showing up.
The doc said you can spread it even when no outbreaks are present, so you must ALWAYS use protection. Lets face it, the woman is only as clean as the last guy she was with. Thanks again everyone, and play safe.

Garthy, not true. I did a lot of research on STD when I got Chlamadya earlier in the year. You can catch Herpes with and without visual symptoms. Here is a quote: "Most of the time the virus is latent but can still spread even when there is no outbreak. In the so called viral shedding period the virus is also contagious. The viral shedding period is when the virus reproduces itself and can be easily be passed on to others via skin contact. This can happen without visible symptoms."

And, you can get it from BBBJ, though somewhat less likely I understand then genital transmission when unprotected.

sorry
I wish you the best - but, seeing that this is the place to provide info that is helpful to all of us, is there any info you can provide us on the 2 providers that were your sole experiences? Also, what have you done to confront them, and did you get one of them to admit that it was her?

But as suggested, it would be helpful for you give the info. Others can still take precaution and skip the 2.
