Enough said about Osaka! - Let's keep this quiet.
How are you going to keep it quiet? It was in the frickin' NEWSPAPER, man! Do you think the cops are illiterate? They can't read the paper?
When they drive by the sign will be on and cars will be in the lot. Do you think they won't see because they are blind?
Or what?
Use some analytical reasoning. We can't keep information from the police. They ALWAYS know more about what is going on than the mongers do.
It has been shown many times that busts are not made due to INFORMATION, as the police always have information. They decide to act for POLITICAL reasons, when it best serves their objective for the moment.
Let's not get started on another secrecy binge here. It defeats the purpose of the board and accomplishes absolutely nothing.

Don't get your panties in a wad! I was being sarcastic.
BUT, since you brought it up here is a respose in kind...
Use your brain -
1 - I am CERTAIN the legal services advertised in the NEWSPAPER will be DIFFERENT than are discussed HERE. Advertise for legal services all day long - LE can't do a thing.
2 - You CAN in fact keep information from the police (please don't ask me to explain how - it's not that hard)
3 - Try to use some analytical reasoning - OF COURSE busts are made due to information (what are you thinking?) Zero information = Zero busts (ever here the term "under the radar"?)
I agree that many busts are politically motivated but let's use some common sense here - oh, and be respectful to each other.
I wheeled in there this afternoon. Open sihn is on. There were 4 other trucks in the back lot. They would not open the back door like they used to. Had to walk around to the front. Went in and was greated by an ok looking korean girl. She looks kinda like the LMT girl at Pine Tree. She said I had to wait 30 minutes. I did have that much time for lunch.
Anyone else try it today?
Quite a surprise to see Osaka advertising in today's newspaper.
Whatever the case, we know it (probably) won't be the same old Osaka. Although we all know the real reason Osaka got busted, the "official" reason was "unlicensed practice of healthcare profession". In other words, they didn't have massage licenses.
Massage licenses are expensive, time consuming to get, etc. If Osaka hires only licensed therapists, it's going to jack up the price of all their services.
Then again, perhaps they figured that the storm has blown over, and it'll be back to business as usual. I hope that's the case here.
I am glad to hear that your statement was meant with sarcasm. Unfortunately that doesn't always translate accurately in print. I apologize that my comments felt personal to you.
No disrespect was intended. I'd probably like you if I met you!
But you pretty much undermine your own point by in fact arguing once again for secrecy. You can't have it both ways.
It is one thing if you are going to keep your own secrets, but whenever someone encourages others to do so, that hurts us all. I'll challenge it every time.
So while reading the following comments, everyone can judge for themselves if they make sense or not. Don't take them personal, okay?
1 - I am CERTAIN the legal services advertised in the NEWSPAPER will be DIFFERENT than are discussed HERE. Advertise for legal services all day long - LE can't do a thing.
LE certainly can't do anything about what is said here either. This is not legal "evidence" of anything.
Not that LE cares much about following the law, as they choose to do what they damn well please, evidence or not.
But discussing it here won't change a thing. Osaka was well documented on this board for many years before the cops moved in. If what we said here mattered, what the hell took them so long?
2 - You CAN in fact keep information from the police (please don't ask me to explain how - it's not that hard).
Not this kind of information you can't. They know where every MP is, every corner where SW are, etc.
Just imagine for a minute if we had the resources that LE does. Suppose you and I could monger full-time, and get paid to do it, without any fear whatsoever of arrest. When we went home for the night someone would take our place and in the morning they would report to us what they learned in our absence.
We had all of the resources of the government at our disposal. We could run background checks, pull up arrest records, search credit reports, utility records, driver's licenses, addresses, phone numbers, etc. We had a network of thousands just like us who we could trust to share information with us.
Don't you think we would be the first to know what is going on in the community before anyone else does?
Well, that describes the assets that LEO has at its disposal.
Not to mention the ability to offer deals to drop charges, or even pay cash dollars for information. I have personally seen a detective offer a citizen $200 cash to answer a few questions.
If anyone thinks for a minute that LEO doesn't know every what is going on simultaneously or before we do, they are living in a dream world!
I hope that no one is so egocentric to think that we are giving away any secrets on this board. We are not.
Is anyone delusional enough to think that we are so clever we can find a provider or AMP that delivers, but the police are so stupid that they cannot unless they happen to read about it here?
3 - Try to use some analytical reasoning - OF COURSE busts are made due to information (what are you thinking?) Zero information = Zero busts (ever here the term "under the radar"?).
This statement is about 180 degrees off course. So I will spell out the point: It is incredibly naive to think for a minute that LE has actually has ZERO information. The opposite is true. They have far more information than any of us will ever have.
Remember, it was in the NEWSPAPER. They know Osaka is open again. They probably knew it was happening long before it hit the newspaper.
They will bust it again when they feel like, whether that is in the next week or in three years. Nothing we say mattered before, and it won't matter now. That's because they have all the information they need if and when they want to do anything about it.
Our best hope as mongers is to pull together and share as much information with each other as we can. That we maybe we can all get a little while the getting is good.
The police love it if we keep secrets. It makes their job easier. They don't even have to lift a finger if we don't know where we can get laid. Divide and conquer wins every time.
Obvously, the very presence of anyone who comes here shows how valuable it is for us mongers to exchange information. If it didn't work out for our benefit instead of the benefit of LE, none of us would bother with this board in the first place.
Remember how excited you were when you first found out that this information was available online??? It was like the scales fell off our eyes.
For those of us old enough to remember what mongering was like before the internet, this is a godsend! So let's don't screw it up by keeping secrets.
Sharing information improves the possibilities for each of us. That is why Jackson undertook to run this board. So that we can all be enlightened.

What are the odds that Osaka has reopened as some kind of sting operation? I doubt it, but it's possible. I certainly plan to check it out anyway, but I'm going to keep my eyes open and be a bit cautious. Such things have happened before, though not in Tampa as far as I know.
I just called Osaka. A woman -- I assume the mama-san -- answered. I asked who was working, and she said (in a strong Korean accent), "We're under new management. Just come on in!"
"Under new management" does not sound promising to me. I think Osaka will be just another massage + HR place now. :( I suspect, however, that it's new management and not a new owner.
Well, I'm going to take one for the team within the next couple days.
Before Osaka became THE Osaka, Yoshiko was one of the happenings AMPs in town. Like Osaka, they also fell prey to the medical treatment without a license thing. When they reopened, the old girls were all gone and the newbies were very paranoid for a few weeks until they got settled in. On my first visit all I got was HR and a nervous one at that.
My advice, keep expectations low and go with the flow. But remember the girls work for tips ;^)
Stopped in at Osaka when I saw the open sign lit. All new people Kim has retired(I was told) by May 30 something cute. like all amps massage and Happy ending. We will see if it gets better!
TM, it sounds like the folks on both sides of the exchange might be a bit wary in the beginning until we know whats up - the mongers that go there and the girls themselves. You don't know if its a sting but I kinda doubt it. We also don't know if the same level of service will be on the menu or if it is will be at the same price. And the girls don't know if they will get busted again. could happen right away or it might not happen again for a while. They'll have better confidence after they've been open a while and nothing happens.
DB, don't jump on me but I sort of know where both you and mrmrr are coming from. I'm sure the cops had a pretty good idea what was going on at Osaka long before they ever busted them, whether from this board or from other sources. The posts on this board may not qualify as legal evidence but it is another source that might point them in the direction of where the greatest activity is happening and where they should target with an undercover operation to get the legal evidence to charge them. So why did they choose to bust Osaka when they did? I think it was political pressure but, and this is just a thought for discussion purposes, this board may have had some indirect impact on that. The places that are nothing more than overpriced jack shacks don't seem to get busted because they don't generate enough business to really attract any neighborhood attention. OTOH, places like Osaka, either because they DO offer a good deal and therefore generate lots of business and/or the fact that they offer such a good deal gets publicised on boards like this and in turn they become highly popular attracting lots of traffic. All that public coming and going then leads to the political pressure that causes the police to act to shut them down. Does that mean we shouldn't post about it? I'm not saying that, but you see the conundrum. Maybe the answer is to keep the more graphic details backchannel through PM's or something. but if the place really does wind up as good as it was I don't really see how that will keep it from eventually becoming the high traffic spot it was. One thing I do know is this... no one tell Newbie about this.
Chase,
I can appreciate your balanced approach. Nonetheless, I think some facts will help bring the matter into better focus.
I hope the members here will evaluate the following data with an open mind.
The AMP scene has never been as well developed over in Orlando as it is in Tampa. Nonetheless, in March nine AMPs were busted. Of those nine, eight had never once been mentioned on this board in the past six months!
The one that was mentioned had two innocent comments:
1. It appears to be legitimate.
2. It was locked up.
There were 24 other AMPs that were mentioned on the board, ranging up to a high of 20 posts for the most popular one. Yet none of these 24 were busted.
So if this board has any influence on who LE decided to bust, why were 8 of the 9 establishments busted not mentioned on here, and 24 of the 25 mentioned here not busted?
Here is a link to the full report, as quoted by Jackson, along with his comments:
http://www.usasexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=514821&postcount=369
And of course, anyone can go read the Orlando AMP thread from September to March and see for himself that my statements are accurate.
Okay, that is one pretty thorough study that is directly related to this board, and based on factual data. I am confident that similar studies in other cites would likely bear the same results.
It is also a fact that there were literally hundreds of reports here on Osaka over many years LONG before anything went awry. That makes a pretty strong case that this board didn't have anything to do with the fact the LE finally decided to close it down some years later.
BTW, Chase, I will be visiting your favorite destination next month. No worries about being busted in Costa Rica, that's for sure!

Hey Max - have the prices changed?
Went to Osaka tonight. I got a GREAT massage, but beyond that it was completely worthless. Sorry, but HJs just don't do it for me. Man I miss Tina.
Sorry DB I still disagree. Never said they have zero info
Are you related to my first ex-wife? Man, I wish I had this quote function when I was married! She was always trying to twist her way out of what she had said just the day before.

Zero information = Zero busts (ever here the term "under the radar"?)
In your world, how would they have information to make busts, since it is not that hard to keep it from them? And you did say that zero information = zero busts. We can all add 2+2 to get 4.
I suppose you also have some twisted logic to explain that your words don't mean what they say. No need to belabor the point any further. The contradictions speak for themselves.
At any rate, let's stick to the point, to wit: It is both ridiculous and self-defeating to think that by keeping secrets from the members of this board will have any impact on whether of not someone or some place gets busted.
