It is illegal, except in the state of Nevada, to exchange payment for sex (I will not go into dating or what hollywood guy calls dating), but let's just agree that if a transaction is totally meretricious, it is illegal from start to finish.

Of course I used to live in Miami where roundtrip flights there could be had for less in the 180-250 range sometimes. Thousands of people from the USA go to Thailand each month for all kinds of tourist stuff. No visa is required for an American citizen. You don't have go get anybody's "permission" to travel to Thailand. Buy a ticket, go to the airport, show your passport, go thru security, and get on the airplane to Bangkok.
