Many kgirls don't want to reveal too much personal info about themselves in general because they don't know who the foreign customers are, and not something they talk about with strangers. They are not on a date. Also, North Koreans are looked down upon by many South Koreans, so they don't know how Americans would react if they found out (or whether they would be deported). It has nothing to do with exposing their families because the North Koreans already know who has defected and their families. Their families are are no longer in and. Korea - they escaped from N. Korea to S. Korea a long time ago.
