Kinda slow after 11 pm tonight
I toured the city tonight but did not find a large selection during my cruise. The flight plan took me through the hilltop and bottoms on both main routes, along the east on Parsons, Main, and Liv, then up and back on Cleveland. Although a few were out in each area, I only saw two that may have fit my tastes but neither were compelling enough to stop. (I like all complexions, but prefer them thinner rather than thicker, clean and sober-looking rather than staggering or slobbering.)
It could have been the number of cruisers that seemed active all over the city, or maybe the black cat that crossed in front of me was an omen that tonight wasn't worth the risk. Either way, I headed back to the hanger for the night around 1:00 am.

New crackdown on prostitution in Columbus targets those who pay for sex.
The woman walking down a Parsons Avenue sidewalk was trying to make eye contact with men driving by.
One of them was Sgt. Ryan Chrysler of the Columbus police vice squad, who cruised along Parsons in an unmarked SUV on an August morning.
'Man, this is a mess, ' Chrysler said, as he identified at least five prostitutes working a small stretch of Parsons just outside Merion Village on the South Side. But among the women working the street was a decoy — a female cop hoping to lure customers as part of a new effort by Columbus police to address the demand side of prostitution.
Typically. 80 to 90 percent of prostitution arrests have been of the sex workers, Columbus police statistics show. Last year, there were 800 charges against women arrested — often the same woman over and over — for soliciting or loitering for solicitation. But in the same 12 months, only 64 male customers were arrested for prostitution-related offenses, and police seldom arrested a man more than once.
'Obviously, we were hammering the females, ' Chrysler said. 'That's not fair. '
Lt. Mark Lang of the Columbus police vice squad said that regularly arresting 'johns' is another way to fight prostitution.
'I recognize the economics of commercial sex, ' Lang said. 'Fighting the supply-and-demand side of the equation at the same time will reduce the instances of human trafficking and street prostitution. '
The Police Division released information in July about a one-month effort — from the end of May to the end of June — that concentrated arrest efforts on customers of prostitutes. It was so successful that 71 men were arrested during that time — more than the number arrested last year.
Police say they'll continue to go after the customers through fall.
'Recently, we noticed online talk amongst customers unhappy with our renewed focus on them, so we know it's being noticed, ' Lang said.
But the switch was not without challenges. For example, the vice squad doesn't have many women to pose as prostitutes. Only two women are on its 18-member staff, so it has recruited female officers from other squads within the Police Division.
And it can be a dangerous assignment. On one occasion, a female officer was nearly kidnapped by two men on the Near East Side. Chrysler said the officer recognized the risk and backed off.
On this particular August morning on Parsons Avenue, the Columbus police undercover officer was approached by a man who wanted her to go with him to a drug house. She declined because that was too risky. So the man promised to return with some crack cocaine that he wanted to exchange for sex.
The officers working with her and communicating by radio were skeptical that the man would return. But minutes later, there he was. Officers quickly closed in and whisked the 30-year-old from Cleveland away, taking him to a nearby police substation to be processed on a drug-trafficking charge.
When police arrest a person — man or woman — for soliciting, that person usually goes to jail. A soliciting charge is a first-degree misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $1, 000 fine.
Many times, however, the charge is reduced to disorderly conduct, which is a minor misdemeanor. Sometimes, the charge is dismissed if the person pays a fine.
Linda Henry, a longtime South Side activist, said she appreciates the effort to arrest prostitutes' customers.
'I feel the johns are a definite part of the problem and are the ones that keep prostitution going, by supplying the drugs and the alcohol they feed on, ' Henry said.
Michelle Hannan is director of professional and community services for the Salvation Army of Central Ohio, which has programs to help prostitutes escape their lives on the street. Hannan, who also serves on the Central Ohio Rescue and Restore Coalition and the Ohio Human Trafficking Commission, welcomes the Columbus police strategy of arresting more johns.
'Hopefully, this effort will reduce the demand for people buying sex, which is fueling the sex trafficking in our community, ' she said.
After the work on Parsons, Chrysler decided to move the undercover unit to another part of the city. Some of the other hot spots for prostitution, he said, include sections of Sullivant Avenue and W. Broad Street, which pass through Franklinton and the Hilltop; E. Main Street on the Near East Side and between Bexley and Whitehall; and Cleveland Avenue around Weber Road in North Linden.
'My hope is we see a decline in traffic along the main thoroughfares, ' Chrysler said.
He also hopes to make men who want to patronize prostitutes realize that they have a greater risk of getting caught.

That's right, a woman. If she would get her head out of her ass long enough to realize that if they chase the Johns away, the working girls will have no money. That means that the "indies" will have to resort to theft to feed their habits and the "stable girls" who are no longer bringing home the bacon will have their handlers beating the hell out of them or even worse! Maybe if the new lady chief would worry about her own " glass house" first, she wouldn't have detectives laundering money for the drug cartels in the casino or providing them protection and maybe she wouldn't have supervisory personnel passed out in their cars on the city streets charged with OVI. It will be interesting to see how the bullshit in her own house gets handled in relationship to the handling of Johns on the street. Women have been selling it as long as time immemorial and men have been buying it. That will never change until we become an asexual society with no balls or giners. Think about it!

It's always been that offering sex for money is prostitution. I recently heard a couple of reports (not from Columbus) about the hobbyists using a different track and it being effective to circumvent LEO. If your phone has a camera, and most do, when talking with the SW, simply explain that you want to have sex with them, but it is illegal to have sex for money. It is not however, illegal to make pornographic films or take pornographic pictures. Unless you have professional equipment and a functioning production company the court will refuse to accept you claim of figure study photography or porno movie production. Take pictures if you want for your own purposes but recognize that this is no shield from prosecution.
