FOUNTAIN VALLEY – Four men who police say solicited prostitution from undercover detectives were arrested at a day spa in Fountain Valley, police said Monday. The arrests occurred Tuesday while undercover detectives posed as massage therapists during a sting operation at TLC Day Spa at 10810 Warner Ave, Suite 5, said Fountain Valley police Sgt. Eric Orahood. Undercover detectives posed as massage therapists during a sting operation at TLC Day Spa at 10810 Warner Ave, suite 5, said Fountain Valley police Sgt. Eric Orahood. Four men were arrested for prostitution solicitation last Tuesday.
The investigation began about a month ago when neighboring businesses reported suspicious activity at the day spa, Orahood said."They believed it was a front for prostitution because of the clientele that was coming in and out and the time they spent in there," Orahood said. To investigate the complaints, undercover officers were sent in to pose as clients and confirmed that the day spa was a front for prostitution, Orahood said. Several massage therapist employees were arrested on suspicion of soliciting prostitution. Detectives obtained a search warrant and a judge authorized detectives to operate the day spa and target the "johns" who were looking for prostitution services, Orahood said. The sting operation resulted in the arrests of four male clients. They were each cited for one misdemeanor count of solicitation and released. The names of the arrestees were not immediately available.
Detectives from Seal Beach, Irvine and Huntington Beach assisted in the sting operation.
