You can see the entertainment downturn in strip clubs. Ever since January you can walk in and consistently see fewer customers, you can consistently park closer to the front door. Part of it is when the tech industry started many rounds of layoffs after years of over-hiring post-Covid. These are high paying jobs and those still with jobs just want to cut back a little in case it happens to them next. Regular immigration is a bit harder than before, but it was always a problem to some degree.
I actually made a full kgirl financial forecast post recently. When there is a cheaper and better girl, most people go to her instead. Where I am, korgs and corgs keep each others' prices in check, as well as traditional AMPs, strip clubs, thai orgs, and every other option. But Manhattan is unique in some ways so that distance lessens the impact of cross-competition. But I'm sure it happens.

The process is now repeating in the next town over, and I predict that LA will follow soon enough.
Unfortunately, during this downturn it is not common for more new shops to show up. But existing shops will compete with price cuts.

On topic of discounts. Discounts, some do, they'll sometimes give you a bone on pricing but it's a bad cycle because then customers are trained to wait for it. It's not a good way to do business either.
And customers can be dumb, we see a cheaper girl and she must be ugly. PPC did a few of these $220 cheap but cute girls and some customers didn't go because they thought they are ugly because $230 price is usually less hot girls.
