For every 1 COVID death.

-19 more require hospitalization.

-18 of those will have permanent heart damage for the rest of their lives.

-10 will have permanent lung damage.

-3 will have strokes.

-2 will have neurological damage that leads to chronic weakness and loss of coordination.

-2 will have neurological damage that leads to loss of cognitive function.

Death rates aren't everything. You can survive and have lasting debilitating affects of a disease that isn't fully understood yet in terms of its long term consequences. Anecdotally, I know 2 people my life who technically have recovered from COVID but one still can't taste anything and the other is out of breath much faster than he otherwise would've been (it's been affecting his exercise regimen and makes him more fatigued throughout the day).

In the first half of 2020,43. 4 percent of USA Adults ages 19 to 64 were inadequately insured. This is statistically unchanged from the last time we fielded the survey in 2018. The adult uninsured rate was 12.5 percent. Aug 19,2020.

My point was that the health care system on a whole (not individual scenarios) is poor and has been for years. And that simply has part again PART to do with the 3 reasons I listed as to why clearly the United States has more COVID-19 cases and Deaths than any other country.

Co-pays and coverage qualifications aren't necessarily what I'm talking about. I'm simply saying that in general for the ENTIRE country the health care system sucks. And it definitely plays a factor in why the United States is in this situation.
