I have probably known her as long as anyone on this board and she is by far the most organized and straight person you could ever meet in this hobby. There must be very good reason or terrible miscommunication. I can feel your pain because this has happened to most of us at some point, but I can promise it is very unusual for this lady.

I wouldn't count on email. I've had plenty of situations where I would send a message and it not make it for a few hours if not at all, same thing for receiving. Call or text is the way to go.
