Distraction
I have always questioned the dangerous part, the holding of the phone to the ear or the actual conversation. I am not sure if hands free is considerably safer. How many of us actaully drive with 2 hands on the steering wheel? I think the most dangerous part is the entire distraction of the call. I see so many people on phones that forget they are on a highway in the passing lane and now only doing 25 mph.

I think it is dangerous to try and study a phone on your ear with one hand and drive with the other, I don't think the act of talking in and of itself is dangerous, to me if you have your hands free it's no more dangerous than talking to your passenger
If having a conversation in and of itself is dangerous then they should outlaw passenger conversations and radios for that matter. It is most certainly the fact that you have to divide your hand eye coordination with two objects which is extremely difficult, the closest analogy would be juggling. When driving with one hand the other isn't doing anything complicated it's idle. I think this ban is a double edged sword, it'll make the streets safer for drivers but the PPD is going to use this as another way to harass citizens.

BadBoy
Keep in mind that before cell phones were common, many younger drivers were having accidents due to focusing on the conversations they were having with other passengers in the car. Also, you have to consider the people that eat while driving or even program radio stations while driving. I agree that cell phones are problems, but think we won't see a significant decrease in distracted drivers. Think about how many "drones" you see walking around with blue tooth earpeices that are totally consumed in their conversation. IMO, hands free devices are allowed because it would be impossible to enforce. A cop wouldn't know if the person was talking on the phone or simply singing a song. This is just my opinion and not an attack on your view. Sorry to go off topic.
Back to the mongering.

Robbed
Went to phiily for some cheap love this week. Got a WSW in the seat. We went to park and a black SUV followed. I didn't proceed with the deed because I am always carefull of LE. I moved and he followed. I moved again and again he followed. The SW was freaking and telling me to chill. I parked to let her out. She resisted and then got violent. She took the keys and then the black SUV pulled up behind. They robbed me. I am done with mongering. No more. Thanks philly for nothing!

If you knew someone was following you, why'd you stop somewhere that was condusive to you being robbed, that's just plain dumb. Obviously the girl in the car is in on it, why are you worried about where you're dropping her off at. You could have driven to very public place or how about a Police Station. Ordinarily I wouldn't blame the victim, but you knew something funky was going on long before the actual robbery. If you thought they were cops you still could have driven to somewhere safe, if she was ULEO or not, you still weren't in the shit any deeper regardless. This is a dangerous hobby no matter where you are. Whether you're in NYC or Mayberry you're still dealing with people who have little to lose, you rolled the dice and came up craps no reason to flame a whole city. If you think like that you're just gonna get robbed someplace else.

Driving and Distractions
Guys:
I certainly agree that distracted driving is risky but after all the energy put into discussing the distractions of cell phones and even radios and conversations with passengers, we might take note of more serious distracted driving risk: Driving the K while scoping for SWs.
Driving a lap on the K involves doing a lot of distraction along the way.
WHILE DRIVING, I find myself absorbed in spotting the younger females and then looking them over carefully. Is she looking back at me? Is she good looking? Does she look alert or nodding out? Is there a pimp nearby? Is LE watching? Was that a red light I just rolled through? Is LE watching? Do I recognize this one? How young is she? WOW, that one is hot, where is the next place I can turn to loop back and get another look? Will another monger get her before I get back there? I'd love to make a U turn but, is LE watching?

-- Forth Ryte
I think your right about the distractions. I was in Camden about a year ago and ran a red light with LE on the street corner ahead. I was checking out the chick on the corner when LE came out of nowhere. Needless to say I got a ticket for the light and called it a night. While driving around I see all sorts of things mongers do that cause accidents like the sudden u-turn in on coming traffic to the slam on your brakes in heavy traffic to beep for a SW. I personally think phones are less of a distraction than your surroundings but the conversation to me is what the real distraction is and not the phone itself.

Variety of action today
Nice weather today led to a bit of action today despite the strike limiting the suburbanites. Took a few random shots of the street action---pics aren't the best but can't hurt.

Walk it out!
How I do it is if I see a cute SW I pull over a half a block and just walk over to her. That way I can see if LE is around. Just do get robbed LOL.

Michelle once more
Yesterday I dated Michelle again. Not the one Mad Monger just had the problem with, but the one of four-star fame and pics both by CJ and Super. I have brightened and re-posted one of CJ's.
The date was so much like my earlier one that there is little left to write. That was a really great date indeed. Once more, I paid more than I needed to, because it felt like the right thing to do.
I did find out a bit more about who she is and how she lives than last time. This really is someone who works to support loved ones and not to support a drug habit. She's as close to being a square as one finds on the K.
For the present, she works regularly and is easy to find. I have digits. I only share digits if I feel very sure the circumstances are OK.
