Was also wondering the same thing. My limited medical background and military history made me think the situation was odd. Not impossible.

There are now antibiotic resistant strains of gonorrhea so it is usually treated with a 2 drug combination these days. I also got tested for syphilis along with everything else and everything came back clear which was good. They only give you pills for Chlamydia which is what she thought I had at first. Like someone posted below some strains of gonorrhea are getting harder to fight so guess they arent taking any chances which Im fine with because the shot wasn't bad at all. I went to Planned Parenthood btw, I would recommend them if anyone was looking...great service.
