Yep I know 3 other businessmen and women that are hurting. Nothing coming in, no unemployment, no ppp loan yet, no Stimulus check. Nothing.
So what are they supposed to Do? A business you busted your butt for 10 years building, in a matter of a couple months, through no fault of there own, is hurting.
I don't know, it just breaks my heart to see us do this to ourselves.
Maybe it'll start to get better for all of us.
M454.
I'm less sympathetic. Other states are letting small business owners get uninsurance and ensuring they are getting ppp loans for their state businesses. I personally know a couple of people in Florida that own a car dealership and tailoring business respectively and they are getting $300+$600 per week and the stimulus check and ppp loans. From the research I looked at a while ago. Georgia could only pay uninsurance for the number of people who filed for 2 weeks which is why I suspect the rush to reopen. If you are hurting it is because of your elected state leadership.
However, your pain In the pocketbook should not translate to a safety and wellness issue for my family. The more businesses open the increased risk factor for everyone we arent that many degrees of separation whether I don't go get a hair cut or not there is still an increased risk to me the more asymptomatic people there are roaming about. That's just my unpopular opinion.

He still has not gotten a check, nor have his roommates. So its hit or miss on Florida unemployment. As for Georgia, part of the reason you stated contributes to the rush to reopen. A bigger part is that Georgia tax revenue and budget are expected to run 4 B in deficits over the next 2 years. So no economic activity, no revenue for the state. Now, was it a smart move to open the business with the highest potential for spreading this virus? Only time will tell. And yes some businesses in Georgia have gotten PPP and EIDL loans. And I know of a few people in my neighborhood that have gotten their Stimulus checks. The struggle continues for a lot of our neighbors / family and friends.

Explain to me exactly how somebody else relaxing the draconian restrictions that have been put in place increase your risk if you continue to obey them?
Stay at home, don't go out, have everything you need delivered, create a hot zone in your garage where you disinfect everything coming into your house and stay at home. Why does everybody else have to do the same when you, and anybody else, can easily isolate yourself?
In other countries you might be able to make a point but in the US, in Atlanta, you don't ever have to set foot out your front door.
No joke, explain that to me because so far nobody has.
Just my. 02 cents again, any serious attempt to put coronavirus deaths in context by comparing it to some other cause of death in a previous year must acknowledge the marked differences in the Covid-19 trend most notably, the rapid spike in deaths that is still underway, and the wide range of uncertainty about when it will peak, how high it will peak, and whether it will peak only once. As long as the pandemic is rapidly spreading, these comparisons will be fraught.
Europe went thru China virus approx one month before US. Data from Germany, Italy and Sweden show a lockdown did nothing to slow the RO. By the time lockdown put in place, that curve had already been flattened and was heading downwards. Lockdown didn't change the trajectory. But be afraid. Be very afraid. Pray for your gubmit check and a chunk of gubmint cheese.

$13 k extra taxpayer dollars paid to hospitals for ea covid death. Wonder if that's why Dr's are being pressured to over count? Hospital admins wouldn't do that, spread fear, only to increase profits would they? Media wouldn't spread fear for page hits and viewers which equates to additional ad revenue dollars, would they?

Big government is there to protect them from that wicked death sentence named Coronavirus. Man, gtfoh with this Coronavirus exxagerrated government-made nonsense. Looks like some Sci-fi fiction shit straight off the Disney channel. Just the other day, they claimed some public official had his leg amputated due to complications from Cororonavirus. Smh. Little Trayvon Devontataetay Martin Brown recently got shot in a drive-by shooting. He also died due to complications from Coronavirus. This Coronavirus farce is getting ridiculously out of hand now.

Everyone else has to do the same because it is capable of infecting any and everyone. Your logic amounts to having a pissing section in the swimming pool. Do you really believe that if people piss in a certain corner of the pool that everyone in that pool isn't going to be swimming in pissy water? Atlanta isn't on an isolated island, I'm pretty sure if the virus can find an infectious path from Wuhan China to Albany and Atlanta Georgia it can eventually affect any and everyone.

When didn't do the same as early and now it is beyond our ability to quarantine and testing capacity. What we have left as a good path forward is a lockdown.

I asked a very specific question. My logic doesn't amount to a pissing section in the swimming pool, they used to have kiddie pools so adults didn't have to swim in piss, my logic says if you don't want to swim in pissy water don't go into the pool.
Answer the question or don't but if you're going to continue deflecting I'll just assume you don't because you can't.

Admin2 and others have asked you the same question and your only answer seems to be "because I say so". Yes, the virus is quite deadly to that certain demographic that you mention, the older ones among us who have serious existing medical conditions already. The vast majority of the rest of us, even if we get it, are highly, HIGHLY, unlikely to suffer the same fate as this group. And yet to you and others like you, the ONLY solution is for EVERYONE to hide under their beds for the next two years until there are no more virus cases left. Of course there will be no more economy left either and the resulting societal breakdown WILL result in chaos and death that will make the toll of this virus seem insignificant in comparison but that does not seem to even cross the minds of people like you. Stay in your own corner and piss away if you like. The rest of us demand our lives back and by god we are going to get them. I would strongly suggest that you and others like you stay out of our way. Our way is the common sense way. We CAN and WILL get back to work while protecting the vulnerable. It CAN and WILL be done. The only thing preventing that is doom and gloom chicken littles like you whose agendas are, at the least, puzzling and at the most, calculated and sinister. Those of us with common sense, and there are many more of us than you, will fight through this stranglehold imposed on us by thinkers like you and we will see the light of day again, much to your crowd's disapproval I am sure.

As I said in my last post, stay under your bed if you are that afraid. And please stop already with the emotional disingenuousness of referring to the safety and wellness of your family. For their sake please keep them under the bed with you if that makes you feel better. But, to demand that the rest of us adhere to your dogma is just narcissistic, domineering totalitarianism. There's a lot of that out there right now from those with a political agenda to those who just don't know any better and you had better know that we are not going to put up with that crap, not now or ever.
