As for determining fake ads, it just takes experience to pick them out. After a while of reading and replying to them, you can figure out which ones are real and fake just from reading the post. The easiest way I determine is if the post is vague on where they are, these is usually fake. There are some exceptions like "UH" and "Manoa" which have been popping up as fakes.

Personally, I wouldn't send a "face" photo to some anonymous person whom I don't know.
