Camelot and DC Strip Clubs
In response to the recent post re Camelot and folks complaining about it: It all depends on what you "value" in a strip club, beyond seeing naked women of course. Opinions will vary. One thing these DC clubs share though is lack of a cover charge and, I think, no drink minimum, though you have to order something. I've nursed a beer for a log time at the DC clubs and never felt pressured. I was always tipping though. This simply cannot be compared with most other jurisdictions I'm familiar with.
IMHO, then, CAMELOT is definitely the best DC club if you judge mainly on (1) looks of the dancers. The line up of Camelot since 1995 anyway, has been orders of magnitude better than any other location, open or now closed; and (2) convenience of location. 10 min walk from Metro and close to Downtown.
Downsides of Camelot? My first 2 downsides are common to almost all places and won't bother a lot of mongers: (1) Almost 100% artificial breast enhancement (not my style at all) ; (2) Almost 100% full bald (I. E, not just trimmed) pussies (again, not my thing) ; (3) ethnic diversity of dancers: not a lot. There are a few AA and Asian dancers but most are white and a lot are blond; and (4) no close-up look at punani. For me, the lack of lap dancing is not such a big deal. Not because I don't enjoy it. But because in my experience, the lap dancing thing tends to change the whole atmosphere of the Club into lap dancing. I'm younger than 50 and it's sometimes annoying to see the girls sitting & chatting with some really old looking dudes but they are regulars and probably tip more than me.
Having said all that, Camelot is a DC institution and I value it also for its longevity, which tells me that it's doing something right.
GOOD GUYS: This is the best DC club if you value (1) full punani in yo' face (but no touchy!) ; (2) more ethnic diversity (I. E. More African-Americans) ; (3) a more relaxed, atmosphere (though according to the Post, one patron set a bartender on fu*cking fire are he just died after a year in agony). Downsides are not as many "10's" and more "5's" and it's not convenient at all.
ROYAL PALACE: Don't know that it's the best for anything however it gets points for longevity, convenience (Dupont Circle). There's a dude who "emcees" the place over a loud mic: you may find this quaint and "vintage" or fcking annoying. Most of the talent is very average, some downright nasty; you will get more Latinas and AA's; I've heard of some extras being offered, but all I've gotten was an over-the-pants cock rub and even then not to completion.
The other thing I'd say about these DC clubs is they're safe. I've never felt uneasy in them or entering or leaving them. I'm not saying the Maryland or other areas aren't the same, but my sense is that can sometimes be an issue or at least the perception of an issue.
Fuego = Ashes and Embers on Monday Nights
After reading several reviews that stressed how overcrowded this place is on weekend nights, I decided to avoid the crowds and visit on a Monday. The atmosphere this night was the polar opposite of crowded – it was dead as a doorknob. When I arrived at 9 PM I saw three customers and three dancers. Before I left, a half dozen other guys showed up, and by 10 o'clock five dancers had taken the stage. None of them elicited the slightest interest in me, or apparently in the other customers, as I saw no one receive a lap dance the entire time, although most of the dancers circulated around asking each customer if he wanted one. By 10 half the customers had left, and I decided to follow them, as it seemed unlikely the situation was going to improve. Evidently, the best talent is saved for other nights, based on others' reports of Fuego. All of the girls were friendly and willing to do laps, but I saw no one that I would want a lap dance from. I may come back and give the place another shot, based on all the favorable reviews I have read, but it damn sure won't be on a Monday. I do have a couple of questions for anyone who's something of a regular here. Are all weeknights as dead as Mondays, or are there other nights when there is more talent? On a Friday or Saturday night when things are hopping, where do people park? There appeared to be very limited parking along each side of the street.
Whats the nearest stripclub to the Wash DC convention center?
Can someone local let me know what is the nearest stripclub to the convention center?
Tried out Ebony Inn for the first time Sat night
Never done the SC thing before, at least to much great effect. Place was dead Sat night with the $20 cover and the few cute girls hanging out. I've read what I could in the FF. I still need to be more efficient in getting the most for my time and money. I can count on one hand the number of chances I'll get in the next year to be at Ebony Inn or any other place not-so-metro friendly.
So could someone with this specific experience please back-channel me for a more specific guide? When I went on Sat, I had only $40 in the bank account to spare. $20 for cover, and 2 lapdances immediately upon entering at $10 each left me with a few singles for the rest of the night. I'm told it's cheaper cover during the day, and one of the ladies said more people in daytime=more action. I don't know that I want more people, rather just more action. A $4 can of soda only gets me so far.
Thanks, ex.
