This article appeared in today's Baltimore Sun newspaper and is a follow up to an earlier article recently posted here. There doesn't appear to be any safe place to get away from violent crime these days.

Baltimore police have arrested a third man wanted in connection with the holdup last month of a Baltimore strip club that was foiled by two off-duty police officers.

Members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested David Robinson, 34, yesterday at an unspecified location in Prince George's County, police said.

Robinson, who lives in Mount Rainier, has been charged in a warrant with armed robbery and other related charges in connection with the April 5 incident at Fantasies Night Club in the 5500 block of Pennington Ave.

Police said two men entered the club shortly before 2 a.m. and announced a robbery, and one man fired a shot into the ceiling.

The off-duty police officers shot the pair, killing one man and wounding another. Police have said they believe Robinson was acting as the getaway driver.

Its been about 4 years since I've been to the block as I've moved away from the Wash DC/ Baltimore area. Upon my return on Friday around rush hour, I stopped in for a delicious cheesesteak at Crazy John's. Unfortunately, that was probably the best part of my trip. The blocks days appear to be numbered as condos are going up nearby and business seems to be really bad (lack of any tourists or businessmen, seemed to be all "locals").

I had the misfortune of visiting the Block(TM) lately. It is unbelievable how pathetic it has become. I swear to you that on a recent trip I spent $2. Two dollars. One was a tip to the bartender who gave me my drink (on the house) and the other was to a dancer who came by whilst I was imbibing said drink. And I only stopped becuase of the free drink. No other club I ventured into had anything even worth a $6 drink to watch. The quantity and quality of girls was simply sad. If I only knew many years ago what I know now (and had the cash) I could have had some fun before things got so bad. A variety of factors has changed the Block(TM), but the shutting down of the westside clubs and their transference to the Block(TM) has definitely changed the nature of the gents (and I use that term loosely) wandering E. Baltimore street, as well as rendering several clubs simply a waste of time for some of us as they don't offer the type of dancer we like.

I am sure in time the pendulum will swing back. It had better be soon.

I give the new provider a fake name (Jennifer) and then have the new provider call my friend's cell phone. My friend says that he is the scheduler for Jennifer and that the only records he keeps are the bad clients. He says that I'm not on the bad list so I must be OK.

We have used this about 5 times, but so far only 1 provider has actually made the call. They usually just call me back and give me the location.

Another approach is one of the pre-verification services, like Room Service 2000 (aka RS2K). I don't know how much they cost, but there is a fee involved... Some agencies have less-stringent requirements (if any, LOL), which can be a stepping stone to the independent girls.

You can also try building a professional relationship with the courtesan of your choice via e-mail, explain your situation, etc. Once you've actually met, you can ask her to white-list you on TER, too. And TER members have been having Meet & Greets -- they can be a way to meet several prospective ladies at once. The DC forum is quite active in that regard.

When I was getting references at first, I picked reputable ladies who were well-known for discretion. If you tell her your situation, she can work something out; she might pose as a customer, or someone from your insurance agent's office. Reputable providers who are interested in screening will have some cover stories put together in advance, and will work with you to provide something plausible. They just want to be able to do a reverse phone number lookup and confirm that it doesn't go to "Howard County Police, can I help you?", that's all.

There are some services that will take care of screening you; Preferred411 is a good one, as is Date-Check. RoomService2000 is also good, but doesn't seem to be widely used around here. The advantage to a service is that you can get screened while traveling; for instance, when I go to Dallas, I just give my P411 ID when I email the lady, and I'm good to go. None of this "let me call these references and get back to you once I hear from them" bullshit -- I can have a lady finish screening and be on her way to my hotel in 30 minutes, if everything goes right. I called a chick once, gave her my P411 ID over the phone, and she checked it while I was on hold. She set me up right then for later that evening. It's $60 per year, but well worth it.

First, don't bother with agencies if you are looking to build up references. If the lady is serious about requiring references, she probably will not accept an agency as one. They normally specify a reference by an independent provider.

Don't make an appointment via their web site appointment request form. There will usually be some mandatory fields for the references. Just use the email or phone numbers for contact for an appointment. Don't even mention references and they usually will not either. I have only had one provider who posted that she required references actually ask for them when I called her. By that time I had several ladies I could give.

I have never had to give up personal info, like work numbers or such. I always call using an unblocked cell phone and give that number for them to return a call.

I finally had some success on The Block(TM) recently. One club had a few hotties while the others were dead. One beautiful dancer who looked like the hot girl next door with a cute face and a killer 19 y.o. body was extremely aggressive until she found out I don't do the back room.
