Double Edged Sword
It is kind of a tricky situation trying to figure out what you should put in a review, or if you should even put up a review. Sometimes when I write a negative review, I don't want people to think that I am being a negative Nancy or a crabby old man. I just feel that it is my obligation to tell other Monger's about bad experiences so that they don't make the same mistakes I have made. I am not a rich guy, so for me to go out on a Saturday afternoon and drop a see-note at an AMP is a big deal sometimes. If I have a bad experience I will report about it, so that other's won't have to make the same mistake I did. Here is where the double edged sword comes into play. If you put up too glowing of a review on a place, this can upset people and then you start getting the angry PM's. I 100% agree with Bob521, if a place advertises all over the internet, then any review written is fair game. I have seen a lot of negative review's on here, but I don't think any of them had malicious intent. They were only meant to help out fellow Monger's make an informed decision. SaintChuck.
I'm torn. Everything you say is true and I've "discovered" places thanks to the board. I suppose "PM" is a tool to bridge the gap. Also, anybody who advertises, clearly wants to be found, so I have no problem talking about them and passing along the links. Also, because some places offer extras, including FS, at the discretion of the woman, it's hard to promise that everybody will get the same. I just don't want to hurt anybody. Bob.
You took the words right out of my mouth.
I've been at this almost 20 years and I've watched this scene not only in Chicago but in other cities in the US. Yes the purpose of a board is to share but that is no excuse to be ignorant to the fact that too much exposure closes down an AMP. And while there are plenty of women out there I do enjoy having some long term fun with someone I'm comfortable with and who is comfortable with me.
When I first started the first best info I needed was where not to go. How not to get ripped off. But yes little' rub wants to know where there is a girl who does what I want done with the type of body I like. Mongers are so stupid that they will walk into an AMP with the cops standing right there! I know we want everything, share everything, LE sees it anyway so who care. But that is not smart thinking. No offense.
What we really need is for this to be legalized. It used to be illegal to be a homosexual but now it's ok. Sodomy was illegal it now it's ok. Sex workers or getting an erotic massage needs to be legalized. Period. Then we wouldn't have to think with are big heads and could tell all. LOL
Til then my thought is to be wise about sharing. If you're a noob I'll share where not to go. I'll tell the whole forum of a rip off. If your a vet I'll share some detail. Most vets don't want much anyway. Some want a preggo and some want DFK and some want big nips. Most vets know how things work and want to know where to find a girl open to having a good time. They do the rest themselves.
My favorite places have been there forever. Chatter is low and it works. Blow up a place with posts everyday just puts a target on their back so the LE can say what a great job they've done. So will you blow it up and then cry about the good old days?
So that just me. If anyone has a better idea please let me know. But I'm not going to be ignorant to the facts as they are today.

What places have been closed down because of this board?

As a point of reference check out the Indianapolis board.
A year ago places are shut down so quickly that posts are are ultra coded! It's that bad there. I alway RTFF. But this was a hard nut to crack. I was able to figure it out. I met a great girl and had a great session. My review was that I left relaxed. What else needs to be known?
What places have been closed down because of this board?
I would not blame this board 100%. But I have noticed the trend for over 20 years that increased chatter is generally followed by a shut down.
For Chicago / NWI, Senina, Nabi, Pea King Spa to name few.
Ask the guys in LA what they lost. They had 2 pick your own Asian or Latina places in Inglewood. Gone. And multiple shut downs afterward.
Ask the guys in San Francisco what they lost. Pick from 6-12 Asian women. Gone. Multiple shut downs force the scene to almost go deeper underground.
Ask the guys in Indianapolis. Shut downs monthly. Board is so coded it's unbelievable.
I'm sorry your only seeing one side of this. I could name decade long places with little to no chatter and you'd say no one talks about those places or that people say very little. That's the key! So just call me crazy I'm ok with that. I know those who hate hearing those words but I think a few get it.

When there are talks about boards getting places closed it may discourage others from posting.
I don't get attached to places or workers at those places so if one closes I can go somewhere else.

With my absolute favorites I am reluctant to post so I understand- but everyone else yeah I think it's a good thing to post both good and bad experiences. You don't have to give a play by play- but saying you had a good time and a description of the gal looked like, how much it cost, etc is a good thing. My point is when I first started out in the pre-internet era of the 90's- it was from trial and error. I'd see an ad in the sports section of the newspaper and check it out. Guess what- back then some of the places still got shut down without any chatter / posts / etc. The thinking that suddenly posting about a place will be the sole cause of it getting shut down is misguided and wrong. It reduces the point of this forum. If it does get shutdown the board has been helpful in relocating where some of the gals have resurfaced. Heck sometimes they just quit the business or move without it closing.

About.
20% questions to others about AMPs, BP ads, etc.
20% answers to other members questions.
20% what I would say are Public Service Announcements.
20% Comments about money, keeping prices down, others over paying, etc.
19% actual reports on AMPs, BP or streets.
And one report that "Bob you're a Stud!
I guess I spread my reports fairly evenly across the boards.
My two cents is that if the experience is terrible I'm willing to let guys know. If the experience is positive but average, then I'm willing to let guys know because frankly those experiences are a dime a dozen and if that place gets shut down then I just move on to the next place. Now if the experience is as I read earlier as "I need to rob a bank to keep coming here" , then I'm going to be more hesitant to share because those experiences are harder to replace.
Be safe guys and keep having fun!

Shut downs

Bob.
My guess is that we all are a product of our own personalities, experiences and environment.
When I first started some places would not deliver a completion if they did not know you. I've always known you can get more flies with honey than with vinegar and it's who I am anyway so I made nice with the mamasan. Now every visit was great. She made sure every girl delivered the goods to keep me as a good customer. If the girl was not good I could take it straight to the top and she wouldn't be there long. It helped me get more time too as the mms was more relaxed.
I couldn't help but to meet and get close to some girls. Some gave me their numbers and I would set up appointments directly with them no matter where they worked. A few came to my hotel and we'd spend half the day having a good time. One was friends with the local LE and could tell me when busts were going down. Funny thing is that I was getting connections but never looked for deeper connections. I thank Bob for raising my awareness to the next level.
So with a collection of places that knew me I as all set. Sure I'd try a new place sometimes but I had more sure things than I could handle. Two were amazing and I joined in some of the dicussion. And then they were gone. Owners, girls and Mongers all said the same thing. Too much talk. Is this true? You decide.
Like many here I like having my "go-to place" my "stand by" my "I need to rob a bank" place. I had these all over the country. One area dried up. You couldn't see more than 4 posts and it was shut down. Then another area had the same thing start. A monger pulled me aside and let me in on a few things. If I understood the cause and relationships he would tell me about UTR places. I would need to rechannel the need to tell of every conquest.
So that's where I come from. Right or wrong I really don't care as I know what works for me. I respect the game and it pays back. As always using the big head is better for the little head. I'll share what I can of good places. Tell all the bad. Keep close what others have asked that I keep to myself. It's much better than when I started. New Mongers have way more info. More than enough.

I probably should do that more often. I agree I'm a fan of the gals not necessarily the place because quality and talent can differ greatly depending on which gal you see. Just to illustrate my point further that the powers that be ultimately decide if a place is shutdown and not the posts on the board. Go to the Belvidere forum- there's plenty written there. The two mainstays there, ERS and CLV, according to their websites- have been in business since 1976 and 1984 respectively. That's a long time man. It's a small town that is near the highway and those places are located right in the heart of the town. The town obviously wants the revenue to help it pay for roads, schools, etc. They have limitations- don't go expecting FS but a relaxing massage and a typical finish are tolerated for the benefits of added revenue for the town. It's a win-win-win situation for the town, the gals, and the customers.

Joe.
Yeah that sounds about right. I'm the same way- reluctant to post my all time favorites. Instead I might trade info via pm. But there are plenty of good experiences that we can post about. Maybe they're decent looking but the quality isn't the best, or maybe the massage is good quality but expensive, etc. Those places are a dime a dozen and yet still contribute greatly to the board by helping members know what the gals look like, how the massages are, the prices, etc. And helps us decide ultimately whether we want to spend our money there or to cross them off the list and go elsewhere. For example- I thought of trying Blackjacks strip club in Elgin after reading a good report. Once I learned about the prices for lap dances I crossed it off the list- way too expensive for me. For others where money isn't an issue- it might be great- - it just depends.

Excellent
Well put. Funny how the towns can look the other way for that reason.

Fishing
We all fish with our own bait and tackle. Some guys use a harpoon. But at my age and limitations, I'm more of a fly fisherman, with a very flexible rod (sadly) and the patience to drop my fly into the water until I get a bite. I think we all enjoy the community of the board. Useful intel and advice, and some pretty good stories along the way. If it were a different setting we'd probably all be drinking buddies. Actually a few of us already are. Bob.

To Post or Not To Post
I post what I want to say about a place, when I want to say it, and how I want to say it. This site exists for many reasons, and its domain name pulls no punches as to what it exists for. Whether a place stays open or closes or gets busted is no concern of mine, and neither are the women who work there. They, both the parlor and the individual women who work there, make the decision on how they are going to conduct their business and themselves. They can be legit, and accept the $10 and $20 tips, or they can work cocks, and make a lot more. If they choose the latter, we, and they, know what they are. They get to live with that decision, just as any of us get to live with the decisions we make in our lives. I'm not going to pretend to be some knight on a white horse any more than I'll pretend that a masseuse is some vestal virgin whose honor it is my job to defend. If we're not going to share information openly, then this site has no reason to exist, and may well cease to exist. Not that I am going to give a detailed move by move, Penthouse Forum-worthy play by play of what goes on in a massage session. But I'll be damned if I'm going to act under the delusional premise that I'm protecting a business or the women in there. As a wise poster once said, "if they're doing it with you, they're doing it with someone else". You aren't special, and neither are they.
