Has anyone been hearing reports of rather the Covid19 is declining or increasing? I don't watch much news and not seeing much on social media.
As Georgia has a population of approximately 10.5 million, ". 01 of 1%" equals approximately 1050 people. We have lost 838 as of this writing with little sign of a let up. The Governor's efforts to open the economy early will only cause the death rate to increase, so I think your estimate is wildly optimistic.
Not to mention the 20% that get hospitalized, anyone I have heard of that had it bad felt like they were dying, and on top of that it often takes weeks to recover, so not thanks, I will pass on this came of roulette.

Models are only as good as the data that you enter.
The guy that did the "gold standard model" has redid it 7 times and it keeps going down.
Now down to 60 k deaths or less by September. Thats a long way from the 500,000 he had on his first model, that's was used to scare us all into shutting to entire country down.
We are over 50 K deaths in the US already, on April 24, only another 10 K between now and September would be an excellent outcome -- seems unlikely though. If I was a betting man, I would take the over.
On CNBC this morning, Dr. Scott Gottlieb (former head of the FDA and still friendly with Trump Administration) said that what Georgia is doing now, opening up these types of places before the state has hit its peak of infections, is a model of "exactly what not to do. ".
Hopefully the MANNER in which these places open up again will show that it isn't such a bad idea as feared. News footage I have seen, while purely anecdotal, does suggest that most of these establishments are taking safety precautions, such as the wearing of face masks and comprehensive disinfecting between customers, even if they can't maintain 6 feet of social distancing. But that's hair salons and tattoo parlors -- massage parlors, which is obviously what we are all most concerned about specifically, are the wild card. Of course, we are looking at this question from the perspective of the types of massages that WE like to get, but there's no reason why both masseuse and customer can't be wearing face masks during a legitimate massage.
Anyway, looking forward to reading accounts of how this is working on the practical level, both in Georgia in general and in our little corner of the hobby specifically.

My only point was that his "model", 60 k is a long long way from 2. 2 million /500,000 k /220,000 k ect. ,that was the basis for starting this whole shutdown fear mess anyway.
Had the models been closer to the real outcome I don't think it would've been nearly as bad, as far as.
Impact.
Also there were reports all over about the coroner's over reporting the cause of death in possibly 1000's or at least 100's of deaths that may or may not have been caused by covid. ,. so maybe in a few months when all the testing gets caught up and all the numbers are scrutinized,. Maybe just maybe we'll have a better idea if all this was necessary after all.
In the mean time I guess these business owners should have the opportunity to make $ and keep from going bankrupt thru no fault of there own.
Is it really fair to say well mr convenience store owner, and grocery store owners, pizza hut dominos, dollar stores ect. , y'all can figure out how to operate as safely as you can,
But everyone else shut down till we say you can open, I don't think the constitutionality of that will hold up, and I think most have been very very calm, and taken the hit for all of us and now should be allowed to carry on with their business IF, THEY WANT TO....SAFELY AS THEY CAN. and those that don't or aren't ready yet then they don't have to. same with customers, its not mandatory to go out and visit any of these businesses....if u don't want to u don't have to. Seems reasonable to me.
Staying home is not going to make the virus go away, whenever we do finally go out its still going to be there. Might as well figure it out now before we bankrupt the entire country, and all our grandkids kids will still have to be paying on this deficit.

M454.
Well said sir! Many businesses, including the one that supports my family, is now hanging on by a thread. If we cannot get the economy moving again soon, many more lives will be destroyed by the financial downturn than by the virus. Furthermore, anybody who is not comfortable going to get an haircut (or massage) can simply not go. If I can get a barber to agree to cut my hair for a fee, we should be free to make that transaction without government interference. BTW, that principle should apply to the hobby also. It's a matter of liberty.

This seems not to match the reported death total.
I think this says as of today the Total deaths from covid19 is 24,555.
Someone else take a look at that and see if I'm reading it wrong.

So what are they supposed to Do? A business you busted your butt for 10 years building, in a matter of a couple months, through no fault of there own, is hurting.
I don't know, it just breaks my heart to see us do this to ourselves.
Maybe it'll start to get better for all of us.

As a consumer, you are free to partake and you are free to stay home. I choose to live life based on knowledge and common sense and not out of fear.

I know we all fear the fact that we could be bringing home corona because unless your'e wearing a full body condom, you are at risk. The issues used to be HIV / STD and Human trafficking as reasons to move to a legal, regulated system. Now there is Corona. A Trifecta. It's not like the worlds oldest profession is just going to disappear in the USA or anywhere else. So why aren't people talking about legalizing sex work?
Politicians don't want to deal with it- but at this point it is a very real possibility that they will have to. Pushing it underground only ensures that Corona will continue to proliferate, most likely evolve into ongoing varying strains making vaccination a myth and making testing the most powerful means of prevention.
Contact the ACLU, the WHO, your congressman or just tell your buddy. It's time that the dollars generated in sex work were not shared with the government in the form of court fees, fines, penalties etc for sex workers and their clients. This money should instead be used to protect us and all sex workers. I'd really rather not worry about my face being in a mug shot or involved in a bust. Maybe there is a slight chance for change.
