The "flu" is an influenza virus. The current strain of coronavirus making the news, the '2019 Novel Coronavirus', is totally unrelated to the influenza virus.

In other news, I know at least two MTs who are visiting family in China and are now unsure whether their return flights may be canceled. There are probably dozens of them, just from Chicago alone, visiting since this is the time of year with the lunar new year and the milder weather in the south. I'm not particularly risk-averse, but it does give pause when considering visiting an MT who's just returned.
