I used this to keep a baby honest.

It's free and they won't know it's being used unless they know how to look at the raw header of the email and while a lot of the info you can pull by looking up the sending IP, it does tell you how many times the email was opened and what it was opened with / on.

Be careful with the geo location since since mobile IPs are somewhat generic.
