That's not where the real risk is. Just because the app disallows saving of the content at the user level, it doesn't mean the app vendor is truly deleting the content vs selling it for purposes of training algorithms, etc. Most of that will be stored in the cloud for some period of time because whoever is providing these apps knows it might come in handy for long-term monetization.

The power (and profit) in these apps is in the data collection they provide to the publisher. Nobody invests time and money in that game for free.

SecureSpend, in my area, looks to cash registers like OneVanila. It rings up that way. However, it isn't the same thing, as I mentioned. If you get a card that does not have a means to add a zip code for pay-at-the-pump, I predict it will not work on seeking. Some other posters have said SecureSpend can be run by customer service at SA. That was an old tactic, it might still work for even other cards people don't discuss.

I have a question. At one point, someone posted a means to use Google Play cards to pay for SA membership. I have a screenshot of it somewhere. As I recall, it required the use of the seeking app on an Android phone. Does anyone still use this? Is the app still available? I recall that such 'adult' dating apps were removed from the app stores of some cell systems a while back, but IDK about any of this specifically.

I have the Seeking app on an Android burner.

Been doing it this way since December (phone is a couple years old but app was downloaded in December). Also, I seem to remember the Vanilla card worked once or twice but, I may be incorrect about that. I can tell you that EVERY card I have used has always failed the first, even second time I tried. Not sure what I did different but I think they almost all eventually worked. I recall maybe once taking the Vanilla back (by the advice on here) and buying a different card with it. But I would try whatever your using multiple times before giving up. And I never use my real name or info except zip code.

However, since there are a lot of flavors of Vanilla cards, would you mind sharing image of what you got? That would be more helpful than going around in circles of which card worked etc.

Point is, cybersecurity risks are real and getting worse by the day. Scammers are finding new ways to monetize their treasures. And these ransomware attacks usually end up one of two ways -- either the ransom is paid or the threat is followed through with (and sometimes even when the ransom is paid, follow-up blackmail attempts demand ongoing payment).

They might survive but they create a one-sided debt situation where the husband has to spend the rest of his married days kissing ass and living in the shadows of what he got caught doing.

I know one in particular that's in his 70's and posts pictures of him and 22 year olds on dates on on FB, it's a big ego boost as far as he's concerned. He's not married and doesn't need to care about his career.

So they're out there, but I doubt that's typical.

The typical SD who maintains a career and an SO should care.
