I hear you about SB drug abusers. An alcoholic or drug addict is not usually a terrific SB. She is too focused on getting her next high. And your comment about weed is justified. It is still a Federal crime regardless what a particular state says. However, we are already flouting the law by having SBs and my feeling about weed is that it isn't that much additional legal risk. I could change my mind on that one if I were arrested on Federal drug charges for marijuana, but being arrested for purchasing sex would be much worse, especially in the eyes of friends, family and co-workers, who would likely give me a pass on getting caught for using weed. And I think my chances of beating a marijuana charge in court far surpass the likelihood of beating a prostitution solicitation charge. Obviously if you have a job which would be in jeopardy from a positive urinalysis, then you need to lay off the weed. But wouldn't that be true for a SB-related arrest? Most high paying jobs, even under guaranteed contract, have a moral turpitude clause. If I had one of those, I would also abstain from being a SD in the first place. A fun piece of ass every now and again is not worth risking a lucrative livelihood.

I am semi-retired and self-employed, so my risk in this regard is de minimus. That doesn't mean I am totally safe. You can be arrested for a DUI on marijuana, just the same as alcohol, whether medical and recreational weed use is legal or not.
We all take risks in what we do to buy tail. But I never assume I know what Uncle LEO's priorities will be and is likely to do in any particular situation. A prime example is what happened in Camden. A few years ago there was a crackdown on prostitution, especially on Broadway. The crackdown was on Johns. You could be arrested just for slowing down for a decoy prostitute or circling the block a few times. This was especially true if you had an out of state plate. A similar approach has been taken in other cities. You never know what priorities will be exercised by LE at any time. Once upon a time I did visit the Camden strolls, but got a heads up on the situation in this forum and avoided testing out whether it might be true. LE can pretty much do anything it pleases for whatever reason it pleases, and I would always want to play it as safe as possible and not have my "police worries satisfied" by an opinion of someone in this forum.
As for a M&G, I wouldn't pay for one out of sheer principle, but why the suggestion to get a hug and kiss at the M&G? What legal reason is there for that?

However, I do want to agree with you about LE priorities. They are whatever the LEO you happen to encounter are. I look at it like this: Cops and criminals are about '[I]half a turn of the screw[/I]' from being the same thing. They're both lazy, looking for the easy score, and when challenged or feel disrespected, respond aggressively. I've come to this attitude by my exposure to LEO, and I've had LEO folks tell me that only about 10% of the police are actually in it to help people.
I think it's a bad idea to assume that LEO is just too busy doing something worthwhile to concentrate on you.
