The more interesting possibility is that iPhones all have a "find my iPhone" feature that can optionally be enabled. If she has this enabled and has a computer or another linked apple device, she can find the phone location to within a few feet and track its movement. This feature has actually been used to recover stolen iPhones, either by the owner or by LE assisted by the owner. Imagine her, or a male companion showing up to retrieve it.
