I know you should no pay anything before meeting up. This provider asked for. 5 deposit (PayPal) before booking a spot, and then they would send me a booking code, and then I would pay the other $.5 when we meet. My gutt says don't do it (but not sure if some independents do this), but I am also thinking that the worst will be I loose. 5, but I am not sure if I should be worried about sending money through paypal, and something coming back on me.

My question is, has anyone experienced a provider that aske for fraction of the total deposit to be paid up front to secure your spot and then you pay the rest when you meet.

Please not smart remarks.

There's an additional risk of revealing personal identifying information (PII) if you use a service like PayPal. That could come back to bite you badly if Uncle LEO subsequently busts the provider. Move on if the provider isn't willing to accept cash for payment at the time services are rendered.
