I couldn't agree more. Things are getting out of hand. Adequate free market competition should be driving DOWN prices. I could understand inflation when people were flush with cash from govt handouts and decreased spending on travel / dining and a lot of AMPs were still closed. It was a simple supply and demand issue.
I suspect a few things are at play. First, there is a lot of pent up demand from the lockdown. Low end, "Dollar Store" mongers are collecting unemployment benefits and not going back to work. So they have a lot of money and time. I'm talking about guys who live in multigenerational homes with their parents and don't pay rent. This creates demand with money to support it, leading to inflation.
Second, not everyone is on forums and sharing information, but providers are talking amongst each other. Most of the time, a monger chooses a place and doesn't effectively negotiate because they fear the house fee will become a sunk cost. Because this is a black market, pricing is opaque. Opaque pricing can lead to inflation, somewhat similar to what happens with healthcare costs in this country.
DON'T OVERPAY! That should be pinned to every message on this forum.
Agree on overpayments. Regular L1's have become 60, Strip down L1 80. Etc. It's 20 more straight up. L3 can vary anywhere between 160 to 220 is how I am seeing. Crazy that this is becoming normal. It would not if we all take a stand. People having lot of free time at home could be one reason and AMPs are certainly taking advantage of boredom & loneliness. I was at one of the parlors last weekend and opted for strip down L1 which used to be 60. She was asking for 100 and it ended with 70. I should have not budged and stayed with my 60 but gave 10 more for some effort with the massage. This is M&F in plainfield for anyone who cares.
