Continuing saga of payments
I am attempting to get a month membership on seeking.com, and am acutely aware of all the pitfalls and pointers that have appeared on this thread recently. I am using the OneVanilla Prepaid Visa Card. I bought it yesterday. I got online and verified its balance. I even called and through a wacky unreliable phone tree, I entered in a zip code.
I just tried to use it to pay for my 20% discounted membership (seemingly available most of the time), and I got rejected. Twice.
I emailed seeking customer service to ask them to run the card, they used to do that.
BTW, this is posted on the intake form for Customer Service:
Currently, we are not able to accept European-issued American Express or Diner's Club cards. Please use a Visa, Mastercard, Discover, GooglePlay, or a prepaid card.
What are the consequences of Outting ones STD Testing?
I'm not sure what the privacy concern with medical testing is? Is it you just don't want a bill or test result mail to your house because of a wife?
I guess all those who live their lives through SM don't have a clue about privacy? The privacy concern is that with the force of law (supeona, etc) nothing "on record" is truly private. You get in a nasty divorce proceeding and it is discovered you got STD checked a bunch of times. What happens when Apple, Google, FB or some business decides it is in the best interest to spy on your cell phone to protect the "greater good?" What happens when the STD check records of one of those testing sites gets hacked and published in some Ashley Madison style breach? Who knows what the next iteration is of less privacy or "outting" of people is?
If anyone doesn't get that, then they are open to the consequences.
