In general, when a SB starts adding rules, she is making a move to control the situation because she thinks she can. You need to shut that down in a hurry. It will ultimately lead to a request for money (as your situation did), either for something real or just as an excuse to get more money. I had a SB once who asked for a "loan" to get her brother bailed out of jail. I knew I would never see her or that money ever again, or it would be the start of more requests, like I was her personal piggy bank. When I politely refused, she ghosted me forever after, proving my suspicion. She was thinking about leaving me anyway and wanted a going away present.

Women are very good at getting money from men: SBs, GFs whatever. A SB is the former; a SD is the latter (usually). Wealth is unlikely to be affected much by a recession and the price of pussy is also relatively unaffected, since it is a luxury good.
