The current economy status and GPS
I'm going vent for a moment. Just texted a STG and inquired about her donation. She quoted 100 qv 160 hhr and 320 hr. What is it with these average looking STG girls that are somewhat Young asking for 300 plus an hour? You can get a relatively higher end escort for that amount in some areas. The unemployment rate due to the virus is nearing The Great Depression levels. Some of these young ladies might want to rethink their donation structure. I'm certainly not opposed to paying that. But not for an average looking STG girl. I hope the rest of you aren't encouraging this by paying these rates. This should be a buyer's market right now with the service industry ground to a halt. Perhaps soon we might see bartenders and waitresses turn to the oldest profession in the book.
Preach to the choir my man

One posts 200, the others see it and think, "I'm better than her" so I'll post 250,300, 400, or whatever. She has no idea if anyone called or handed over cash to her friend posting 200. Every girl out there has a story of some guy who gave her 500 bucks just to cuddle or some regular who always hands over a big stack of cash. Somehow, the stories perpetuate. In addition, any / every girl who delivers a quality experience has enough regulars who call whether or not there is a post on STG or some other site. The regulars know the value and some may even get a "quantity discount" but the lady gets a stable source of safe income without the risk of getting arrested, beaten up or coming in contact with some nut job.
I believe the best only post when either new to the area, their stable of regulars is dwindling or to remind semi-regulars they are still in town. I have come to the point where I only deal with those ladies referred to my by fellow members of our hobby club or well trusted providers.
Finally, and quoting the famous Dr. Chester K. (who appears in all of the Airline Magazines) - "Everything is negotiable. " And, my guess is, those prices are negotiated daily.
Helpful Hints for Bargain Shoppers.
I've always wondered what others are paying. Always wondering if I'm being a cheap guy thinking that $60-75 for 10-15 minutes is really that insulting. I know it all depends on a million different things like location, reputation, looks, skills, availability, etc. Why don't we ever make mention of what the actual cost is? For their time of course, nothing else. A simple copy and paste of an ad with actual cost would be so great for everyone (except the providers).
DavenPointed (BTW. Nice Name).
First of all a word of cheer. You aren't a cheap guy. With just a few exceptions, in this town there isn't a big difference between a $150 quick visit and a $40-60 dollar exchange. Don't believe the cheap story, especially when you hear it from one of these young lovelies. If you need to categorize yourself, you are a high quantity consumer. Just like every other service or commodity, those who consume more get lower prices. It could be reasoned, you are buying wholesale because you use a lot of this particular service.
Being the community-minded and all around good guy that I am, allow me to offer up some tips reportedly used by other "high quantity/high volume" consumers:
1) Shop at the right time. Many of our friends in the service business are staying in overnight lodging. If they planned right, money for the next day would be carefully set aside by early evening. They don't. By 9:30 or 10:00 assuming they are awake, they start feeling the heat to cough up the next day's rent. Since a night at one of the North End notels is approximately $50, they will consider the offer. They will tell you it is 70 or 80 bucks, but you can check the price on one of the hotel sites.
2) Ask for special discounts. Periodically, services are advertised on special deals. Assume you deserve that deal no matter if it was posted months ago. They usually can't remember.
3) Use the old, I am in town for a while and only have xx bucks with me trick (pardon the pun). What can they say but no. Don't believe the "I will block you" story. The half life on one of these ladies phones is about three weeks. I believe they only block people when they pull some shady deal.
4) Negotiate. Even if the post says 200 bucks, ask and then offer less using rule 3.
5) Expect to be turned down. The prices fluctuate based on what else these ladies have lined up. For instance, if one of their friends is coming over with a fresh batch of cookies (or a bottle of cheap brandy or dope), they may toss out a high price. If you take it, they'll make time. Otherwise, they'll just play out the day and worry about money in the morning (see rule 1).
6) Promise more next time. Hey it may not be 100 percent ethical, but if you enjoy the heck out of your time. Come through. Or, just call some day and say, I didn't forget and thought I would just meet up and hand you off some money. Ten dollars at an unexpected time carries a high emotional value in future negotiations.
Are these el-cheapo tactics? Maybe. But again, you are a high volume consumer and need to leverage your purchasing power. Why not use the tricks of high volume consumers in other industries?
Now repeat after me... 50 bucks is a lot of money. It's more than these ladies would earn in a half day of honest labor, easier and arguably, more fun.
