For those that have the the wherewithal (time, money, patience, willingness to cultivate / train and the means) to undertake the SA side of hobbying, it is indeed richly rewarding. It take real work and most don't pan out like you want or hope. But when you do eventually find your first compatible and sustainable arrangement, jackpot! When you find your second, you will kick yourself for not having started earlier. I took the plunge.
