The only way to accomplish that is to pull the battery. Then the phone is a brick.

IF you keep your phone on, but silent or in airplane mode while it is at your primary residence, the location info might be used to I'd the real owner. Had to dump a prior phone because I "googled" the number using Mr. Number and found IRL info. So just saying.

Then again I could be wrong and hopefully those with more tech know how will correct me?

Can the typical SO do this deeper level of "tracking?" Maybe. Could she hire someone that could?

It does not make sense to me that if it is really off, it can still be pinged. I have never heard of this, IRL or on TV. Someone should clarify that though.

You other comment is concerning my burner and how I handle it. I never have it on at my home. Period. That wasn't my question.

Some people evidently use texting apps on their IRL phones. This seems hazardous in any case, regarding at SB finding your IRL identity, and if you have a SO, her discovering your hijinks.

Married guys. Do you use your real pictures on SA? I have been on before and used real pictures but always so worried someone I know would be on there and see me. Or that someone would screenshot my account and use it as leverage if they wanted to blackmail me. It seems so risky. Is there a place where I can find similar pictures of myself? Or where I can alter my pictures?

So a key is can you sell yourself visually without a snap of your mug?

In the past I found some online picture of a similar looking dude and used that other places. But IF I can find it online so can the SA BOTS and that will / could get you booted or lead to a request from SA to send a pic of you holding up your D / L. In the past I found some free software online that does a melt from one picture to another and used that. Not sure where I ended up, 50-50 or 60-40 but have used that blended pic when dating on other sites. Problems is that the pic result was kinda fuzzy around the edges so if you looked close you got a feeling it was kinda off. Girls like clear pics.

Now when challenged for a picture, I only send one through the SA messaging system. That way one can delete the picture a few days later or after things start to get screwy. In fact, the pic I use IS a bit blurry because I took it with the crappy camera on my burner. Admitting to a crappy camera or lack of tech skills in uploading stuff works with the younger crowd.

There is a dude (farfaraway) here, that uses a cropped face pic of some sort, lower half of a doppleganger. Searching back through the thread here could provide some additional insight as I believe this gets discussed periodically.

More than a few people told me I look like a certain Nascar driver, but every time I tried using one of his photos, flopped / tilted and altered within my photoshop skills, SA denied it.

I used a fake photo for a good while, but when I shared a real photo, I got reported and SA banned me unless I produced a govt photo I'd that resembled my profile pic with the fake image.

Your best bet is to use a real, hidden photo that shows enough of you to give a sense of who you are, but enough deniability if it ever goes public. Also, screen POTs closely, especially if you live in a small town like I do. What industry to they work in, where do they like to hang, make sure there isn't any overlap before sharing pics.
