OK... I will refrain from driving up and down the K at night for hours at a time in the future. Thanks for the replies.
So, I'm actually a frequent Philly visitor - not a local - and this next week I'll be there sans car because I'm working in the heart of downtown this time.
Anyone ever stroll the K on foot (daylight hours of course)? Is that safe? Any suggestions on where to do the deed if I find something? It's an easy SEPTA ride from my hotel.
Or should I just skip the K next week?

It is actually quite safe to walk the K during the day. The two exceptions would be the Somerset area where there are a lot of characters, druggies and dealers and the extreme southern end of the stroll around the mission. But even these areas can be negotiated safely if you are careful, aware and blend in. The difficulty is in finding a place to do the deed when you find someone. There is always the Woodshed but the rates are high ($25 for a half hour last I checked; it might even be higher now; I just avoid the place) and the conditions are filthy. There is also our favorite 10 spot house if you know where it is, but it is a healthy walk from the K. If you are a SEPTA ride from your hotel then the K is perfect because you have the EL right above you the entire stroll.
I wouldn't suggest walking the K at night unless you are seeking the kind of "adventure" that most of us wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.

In the heat of the moment I chase after her, I’m right on her heels when we get to the door and burst through it when she tried to close it on me. Now I’m smelling blood so I follow the frntsnap with a knee to the groin and a knee to the head then a knife hand strike to the back of the neck and a knee to the temple, he drops like a ragdoll. Fatboy throws a haymaker which I trap under my arm and proceed to pound him with straight punches to the face after three he goes limp, I let him drop turn to her while I pound him on the ground, I tell her when I get back my belongings I’ll stop hitting him, by now she’s crying hysterically, she throws my stuff on the floor and runs to what I guess is the kitchen. I grab my shit and haul ass to the door, it took me a couple of seconds to get it unlocked then I jumped in the car and burn rubber out of there. Looking back I’m glad to be alive, I have a big lump on the back of the head, I’m pretty sure my nose is broken, and I have a black eye. I wish I would’ve let her just take the stuff. I'm pretty much back to normal with the exception of a few bruises. My nose was definately broken but got checked out and no concussion thankfully. Last night I saw the SW involved and it was hilarious, as soon as she spotted my car she hauled ass off the corner so fast she fell in the middle of the street and tried to crawl/run away. She must've thought I was coming for her but I was just on my way home from visiting friends. Again I'd like to thank evryone for their support and well wishes. Well I'm thinking about some incidents in the past where girls have ripped off (or worse) the wrong person and days later the party involved came back for revenge. There have been a number of girls murdered in the past because they pulled stunts like this. I recall an incident years ago where a girl who lived in one of those apartments at Kensington and Westmorland invited this guy into the apartment, something happend where she ended up leaving him there and stealing his truck or something. Only to have him show back up with buddies and baseball bats, breaking into the apartment and beat her almost to death as well as few other bystanders in the apartment.
Not knowing you and knowing that you single handedly f'ed up 3 of her would be accomplices probably has her scared shitless. However my friend, seriously watch your back down there. They know your face and your car now, and may want to retaliate. I don't want to read in the paper that you were gunned down on a side street.

I believe your right and I don't plan on venturing into that area alone anytime in the near, or far for that matter future. Alot of people have gotten killed for alot less. Like I said nowadays I'm mongering at DEFCON2 if anything seems the slightest bit out of place, hurt feelings or not I'm ending the deal. Plus I've been mostly sticking to the strip club scene for my Jollies anyway, it's safer IMO and there's always the chance of getting freebies especially since I've worked the door in a few. This afternoon I was on the K for the first time in some days. I had been busy elsewhere, and besides, it was so hot. I saw at least six SWs I had not seen before. Some of them looked interesting.
I saw Michelle walking north. I parked above Ontartio St, so that I could be there as she walked by. A couple of other times, I have passed her and she seemed to look right through me as I tried to get some sign of recognition from her. Someone else has described it this way:

She said "hello" back in sort of an embarrassed, almost blushing, way, and kept walking. Now I see—there is actually some shyness there, together with appropriate anxiety about making contact with someone she doesn't know.
I did not get to follow through. I saw Deanna, whom I had not seen since the end of June, across the street. I had to go and talk with her. She had been released from jail early, to attend the memorial service for a fellow SG who had died of an o.d. She was just on her way there. We agreed to meet afterward for a date. Not so very many patrol cars, but the LE presence was definitely keeping activity to a minimum. Really need to start making some day trips, but it's hard to get away from a fledgling business.
