I never send a pic. If I do, it is a pick of someone totally different that does not resemble me.

This is a business transaction in which I am buying their service. There is no expectation of equal consideration in terms of physical appeal. I may want to see their pic to better refine my choice, although it isn't always required. My pic, however, serves no purpose and is not going to occur. The caution about the additional use of the pic is well considered. Who knows what a provider may wish to do with that image. And let's be realistic, not all providers are equally trustworthy.
