A federal grand jury indicted Yoshiko LLC
Birmingham massage parlor owner, employee indicted on human trafficking, prostitution charges
An owner and employee of an east Birmingham massage parlor were indicted Wednesday on charges of trafficking women to work as prostitutes, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
A federal grand jury indicted Yoshiko LLC; Seung Hee Lee, 38, owners of the Parkway East business; and employee Oi Sun Ensley, 42, on charges of enticing an individual to travel in interstate or foreign commerce to engage in prostitution; harboring an illegal alien for private financial gain; and failing to file a factual statement about an alien.
The defendants are accused of using three women, all illegal immigrants, as prostitutes at the business.
"Human trafficking for the purposes of prostitution is a deplorable crime that amounts to modern day slavery," U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance said in a statement.
