I apologize if my last post was tiresome--I will do my best to make sure that my homework is done before I post again. As a matter of fact, I made sure to do so about Bali day spa. I got royally ripped off today at Central Health -- which is my first negative experience there ever. But it was like a totally different place. All very weird deal. First a white guy answers the door and signs me up. No Mamasan. I get assigned a girl -- whose name I forget, I apologize. But she was short, very petite, and 100% anglicized. You probably ran into Jaime (a.k.a.Princess) who is from Manhattan, and has been there for a bit. She is ~5'2", slim, Size A, big smile, longer hair, perfect English with little to no accent whatsover. She would push price, especially if she doesn't know you, and would place constraints on the session if she feels she doesn't get her optimal price.

Search for 'Princess' on this thread and see my report and another report from a different submitter with the embedded quote "Underwear stays on". That's Jaime... I feel she alone is driving the culture at CH a bit, as I have reported some upsell and variation on 'fair play'. You rarely get that at DT. I do think there are great experiences to be had at CH though (like with YoYo). With that, I actually like Jaime but would have found problem with a similar experience as you had.

The male mamasan has been there for a while too. He is OK. I try to get names of girls who I would prefer first, then ask him which girl is next. If next girl has marginal reports or I've had the girl and want to try someone else, I usually ask.

yep -- that is the one. I think the place has just changed too much for me. It was great before with the full massage and not having to pay and arm and a leg for attention. I think now you have access to girls like Jamie that weren't there before (e.g., great looking American girls) but at a price I am not willing to pay.

WebDog, I hear what you are saying. Look at this way - CH or DT = FS. The girls are usually higher end and expect a certain activity and premium here. The so-called 'massage' that can't be called a massage anymore without a license can be called a bodyrub. You get the bodyrub here because they use it as foreplay and need to fill the hour with ritual, but it is not the main event.

thanks for the insight, Ampdude. It is indeed as you described and it is a matter of expectations. It is not so much that I was looking specifically for a massage, per se, otherwise I wouldn't have gone to a PVD AMP.

But my routine for PVD AMP's has been -- I go there when I am coming back from TF Green, usually after a long, grueling week on the road, and I wanted an hour of pampering, including a massage and a couple of hand releases, with a sensual massage (rub my earlobes, rub my temples, put your tits in my face, plus give me a nice backrub -- and do this for the hour I paid for).

So what I got was a $60 entrance fee that was simply the starting point for more upsell. If I was looking for FS specifically, that would be fine and I suspect Jamie would have been a good option. But at that point you would have had to pay me for FS and I was looking to be taken care of, not to bang one out.

That used to be the whole appeal of a real AMP -- all the pampering, taking care of you, putting your close back on, etc. If the deal is now $260 for one-shot FS then I would skip the TS, save my money and go to a good incall for $150.

Otherwise, what I got at CH was no better than what I get up in Boston for a lot less money. Granted Jamie is hotter than girls up here -- but not by enough to justify the price difference.

If I had read your posts about Jamie I would have known what I was getting into -- and I wouldn't have gone. I generally reserve FS for my wife and go to an AMP just to be worked on in an anonymous way -- without the intimacy of FS.

their line of work feeds into a culture of sleaze, of lawlessness, drugs and violence that corrodes rhode island’s cities.

yet, in the ocean state, brothels are essentially legal, because of a loophole in the state prostitution law that “you could drive a city bus through,” according to michael healey, a spokesman for state atty. gen. patrick lynch. that makes us a highly prized destination for entrepreneurs in the business of human trafficking.

among all the glaring signs of this beautiful state’s civic dysfunction — its perpetually corrupt politics, its fat and greedy special interests, its high taxes and mediocre public schools, its struggling economy and opposition to such job generators as a thriving port, its hardcore addiction to gambling dollars — its endorsement of prostitution behind closed doors surely burns bright.

a truly compassionate people would step in to stop the abuse.

joanne giannini is trying. a democratic representative from providence, wife of a retired policeman of 25 years, she has fought since 2005 to ban brothels in rhode island. last year, her bill passed the house, only to be killed by the senate, apparently on the grounds that women would suffer if brothels were made illegal.

she disagrees, passionately.

“most of my bills are regarding children and the most vulnerable. these young women are among the most vulnerable,” ms. giannini said.

yet, a hearing last week on her bill to ban brothels brought out far more opposition than support. opponents said the bill would unfairly target women, though ms. giannini’s bill outlines penalties for brothel owners and customers as well as prostitutes. much of the discussion seemed to center on whether prostitution should be illegal at all in rhode island. that wasn’t even the point, ms. giannini noted. that question has been settled — just not in brothels.

ms. giannini was shaken by the response.

“i didn’t sleep all night,” she said the next day. “i don’t want to hurt these young women. i want to help these young women.”

senate majority leader teresa paiva weed indicated a chilly reception awaits the idea in that chamber, which has killed it in the past.

“the concern i’ve always had has been that by focusing on the women on this issue, we are only focusing on half the problem,” she told the journal. “i’d rather see better enforcement of the laws that are on the books.”

unbelievable. how can the police go after the (predominately male) brothel owners and operators, and get the women into social services that can help them, if prostitution in brothels is legal? the current approach — of trying to slap them with violations of nuisance or building code ordinances — plainly isn’t working.

“legitimate people are running businesses in providence every day who do the right thing. these other people are making $20,000 a month on these brothels,” mrs. giannini said. “i think the people of rhode island don’t want this going on. they don’t want these girls being brought in like this.”

clearly, though, there are people who want the brothels to thrive. to get an idea of how much money is at stake, just glance at the extraordinary number of graphic sex ads in a weekly newspaper distributed locally.

could any of that money be wielding influence at the state house? or has prostitution, along with gambling, become rhode island’s idea of economic development?

the business is vicious and it is destroying the lives of our fellow human beings. years after this problem first came to light, rhode island still refuses to ban houses of prostitution that rely on human trafficking, hoarding dollars from human misery.

that is an embarrassment to every citizen. or it should be.

If he had written a number less than a dozen, the impact is minimal. Exageration however might stir up puplic interest and create an opportunity for a potential Pulitizer prize winning series. So the writer is giving up any chance for future fun for a few bucks now, so sad.

Um, if you go to yellow pages dot com and type massage and RI (Rhode Island) in to the search engine you will come up with 199 listings in 2 categories. Some of these are national chains, some are duplicates, some are old numbers now closed. But there will be over 100 valid listings for massage. I know they don't all offer happy endings. Does the reporter? Maybe. Maybe not. Sloppy, irresponsible journalism? Welcome to the world of news media gentlemen (and our minority of gentlewomen members).

I don't know why they are focesing so much on the amps. When there is a hugh heroin problem in this state. And a growing homeless population. I guess those things are not as important as men having a good time.

the 100 or so brothels if not enormously exaggerated must include striptease clubs where the strippers are almost 100% white, black, and hispanic. it probably includes incall/outcall services which here seem to be also nearly 100% white, black, or hispanic. it certainly includes massage parlors. there are 199 massage listings in the state [under yellow pages dot com], but the great majority are non asian and/or do not offer any sexual services. of the 100 or so brothels only 10 to 12 or so predominantly employ asian women. if this is an anti prostitution diatribe it should not be predominantly about asians at all. if it is about ins issues then the 100 or so brothels are irrelevant, and asian working conditions in other industries need to be cited.

these "experts" are not unbiased. they are members of law enforcement trying to justify police activities or politicians trying to justify legislative activities. i don't know what the women are told. i would need to hear it from an unbiased source with reliable information before i would find it entirely credible though.

most of this paragraph could refer to any immigrant, and is not particularly germane to asian sex workers. dirty brothels? the dozens of asian ones i've seen have been very cleanly. lord help me if achorn should see my apartment. basically the entire paragraph after trapped is merely inflammatory rhetoric building on the claim that they are trapped. but if the idea is that there are people who keep tabs on them until their passage money is paid off, this again is not particularly a prostitution issue per se. you might almost as well say that i am trapped day and night by my credit card companies and don't know where i could go. i really do not think these women get beaten or killed if they try to leave. most look like they could just walk right out. they make decent money, there are a fair number of korean speakers here, many of the girls speak enough english to get by, and i often see masseuses all by themselves in the smaller spas.

are all these ****d girls being hidden in rhode island? because there are many complaints from the other 49 states that all the asian masseuses they see are in their 30's to 50's, even 60's. the older ones i've seen have been youthful looking with smooth, unblemished skin, upbeat, fresh as a spring breeze; basically the exact opposite of the achorn contention. how many of these girls has he seen personally? i must admit that many korean women are fiends for cigarettes. is that a drug? i really think that the asian masseuse community here is virtually untouched by aids. for diseases and drug addiction check out the streetwalker forum, also on usa sexguide.

believe it or not, not all politicians are totally taken in by propaganda and kneejerking politics. but does she have libertarian leanings that she can't express too openly while in public office. or will she be amenable to a bill that targets us mongers. for now our indoor mongering in rhode island seems to be legal.

A great response to the Providence Journal. I wish just one of these misguided reporters would engage in some journalism and not just quote from the local LE press release. I haven't seen a large amount of editorials or stories about busts but the double handful I have seen look as though the story was written from a boiler plate release when it comes to the statement that the workers are slaves. I have yet to see one in which the author obtained a quote from the Asian worker or at least indicated that a quote was pursued but the Asian worker declined to comment.

The workers I have known are all free to go whenever they want to so I believe the statement that they are not free to go, seen in just about every story or article, is a macro in a computer or manual that is used by public information officers around the country. If that is so, then the reporters are showing just how lazy they are by not attempting to corroborate what should be a very important fact. I'm not sure most of us would, if we knew we were instrumental in abetting sex slave traders and imposing enslavement on other human beings, would continue doing this. Those of us with more than a couple of visits to an AMP know the workers are not slaves. The journalists who parrott the boiler plate press releases are failing their readers by not following up to corroborate facts independently.

As you and I both know, the workers do not serve men with their bodies from the time they get up until they go to bed. I have been in various AMPs when the workers are watching Korean tapes on the VCR, sleeping, exercising, and sometimes go several hours between customers. Some days they may have 3 or less customers and other days they may have 10 or more each.

The AMPs I have personal knowledge of do, in fact, cook in. They don't cook on sterno cans. Some have full fledged kitchens, some have portable gas burners, but because the work ethic is what it is, they cook in so they can eat in. If a journalist with just an ounce of ambition looked at the various Asian businesses other than AMPs they would be quite surprised to find that Asians are extremely strong on work ethic. I used to patronize a Chinese takeout in the southern tier of NY that was a one man operation. He opened at 10:00 and was open past 9 PM 7 days a week. I was there one day when just about everything was closed due to a heavy snow and he was open. He might have been lucky to have 3 customers all day long but he was going to make sure they got their meals. These ladies stay in the AMPS because they feel it's part of their jobs.

As for the age issue, this writer would have been better served had he at least asked for documentation that they are under-aged. I sat in an oriental buffet about 3 weeks ago with 4 women who worked in an AMP that had been temporarily closed. I thought two of the ladies, whom I knew fairly well, were in their mid 30s. When the most senior of the 4 told me in passing that these two were both 45 I could have fallen off my chair. Regardless of what Asian country they come from, Asian women somehow age very well and the great majority look much younger than they are. This is a fact of life that non-Asians would not be familiar with unless they knew a little about the culture.

I've never read one report of drug involvement in any of the busts concerning AMPs so the writer was way out of line on that one, as he was on just about everything else. Like you, though, I've noticed how terribly nicotine addicted the women are.

The writer's assertion that the AMPs are "predominantly male" owned is just plain wrong. I know the owners of 3 AMPs and all are female. Talking to them I get the feeling that, in fact, the great majority of owners are females. So on this one, he's so far off base that in other instances a retraction would be in order.

Most of these women are single, DN, and the only instances of a papasan I am aware of are when the female owner is married. And he mostly stays out of the business.

I just wish one journalist who takes pride in his work would interview the workers who the police say are slaves and are working under threat of life or bodily harm. If the AMPs are going to be attacked on religious or moral ground then make it about that, but if they are going to be attacked by lies further perpetrated by the media, then the press may as well lobby to do away with freedom of the press.

As we near the one year anniversary of the Waterbury, CT nightmare, the editorial in the Pro-Jo reminds me of conversations I had with a reporter from the Waterbury Republican-American.

After reading his articles about the AMP raids I was compelled to contact him and set him straight. Those of you who have read my posts know that I am qualified; as are many others on this site; to address what really goes on in the AMP world.

My previous figure of 112 listings in the Providence Phoenix was in error. It included duplicates and ads for the Providence Phoenix itself. The 103 agrees with the figure of 100 or so that Achorn gives for Rhode Island brothels. It is obvious that Achorn didn't do any more research other than looking at the Providence Phoenix and whatever propaganda the police and Gia Ninny might have given him. He talks about the extraordinary number of graphic sex ads in a local weekly that must be the Providence Phoenix. Yet the spa ads are very subdued, not graphic at all. It is some of the ads for the striptease clubs, escorts, and phone sex that are graphic. These of course employ virtually no asians. Achorn must be padding his figure for the number of brothels to get it up to 100 or so. He is evidently padding his figure with phone sex lines and with some outcall only escorts.

You are right. Yoko was on the 2nd floor of 1021 Broad Street. (My memory is cloudy.) For a while back then, it was my favorite place. Apple/Peace of Mind/Japanese Spa is on the same floor of that building, but one door down. In my opinion, after it moved one door down, it was never quite as good. Since it moved, occasionally the TS water is chilly, the ladies are not as young, beautiful, and plentiful, and the rooms are not as nice.

I still go there every once in a while after downing a few at Cheaters. Last time I was there, the service was good. The woman was about a 5 and in her 40's maybe. I got BBBJ for $60 plus $60 for the room. The woman and the mamasan seemed very desperate for business, I remember thinking. The BBBJ for $60 was probably an aberration. I doubt they offer it at that price regularly.

There was another place on the left side of Atwells Avenue as you drive west from Route 95 with a name I cannot remember. It might have been just an apartment, not a full-blown spa. I only went once. Back in the 90's I use to go to this Prov area, MP, that was in the same building as a large grocery store. You use to have to park on the side of the building and use the side entrance that was out in the open. I remember thinking that all these ladys going to the grocery store were watching me but I didnt give a rats a$$. I only visited this place twice but remember that the service was top notch. You would go in and pick a girl. Hit the sauna and then they would take you to a shower area where they pour cold water all over you to refreshen you . Then they would take you to another shower room for the hot TS. Finally back to your massage room where the fun began. Wish I could remember where this was cause I'd go back if it were still around.

I used to hit that place quite a bit on my way down to the casinos. It was OK but I never got FS, although I did dry fuck a couple of them.
