Free Spirit burnt in like 2005, don't remember exactly but it burnt and nothing was done for years. Fantasyland burnt in like 2009 or so, not sure of exact year anymore. Free Spirit was not much of a building to begin with but Fantasyland was huge and its a shame and a waste what happened to it.
Is that strip club in same building as the adult bookstore (Pure Pleasure?) still open? If it is, is it worth a visit?
I was wrong about the name in my last post, its Pleasure Palace not Pure Pleasure. What about Bottoms Ups. Anyone been? Dawgpound? I heard Roxys is opening back up under the name The Roxxx. Sad.[/QUOTE]Remember my first time here, back in the mid 90's, driving down that dark road at night, then all the sudden you'd see the bright lights of the old sin strip called Brooklyn. It was like a mini Amsterdam, back then with all the strip clubs and other adult businesses. I think it was around 1998 when Fantasyland got raided, it was a Strip club complex, adult bookstore and swing club. After that it all started going down hill, I can recall one Saturday night, maybe in 04 or 05 the entire strip was on fire. After that that there wasn't much left, Just Roxies and the Platinum club which then became PT's. You guys that weren't around back then would have loved Brooklyn back then. Centerville had 3 clubs too, last time I was there only one was left and it was mostly a Black club. I used to love the ESTL scene back then, was so fun, the last couple time I've been down here I didn't even bother going to any clubs. They all suck now, no matter where you go, not just here, they're all lame with low quality entertainment in my opinion.
