All I can report is that around T-Day I re-upped and again, re-upped, after Christmas using the OneVanilla Card. Only problem I had was trying to use the card "too soon" and getting rejected by SA. But next day it went through fine.

Other thing I have seen is: try to pay and IF that fails, email Tech Support. They aren't fast getting back to you, but eventually they do and perhaps can help get you paid up? Incentive is certainly there to collect the money before helping some dude who can't figure out his profile.

Not sure if it is "required" or even a step, but I did sign on to the OneVanilla website, entered the card details and checked the balance as a way to kind of "activate" the card before trying to use it. Probably a useless step, but just reporting what I did.

I thought I was up the creek as I had a good profile set up and a lot of contacts.

Please advise your thoughts on One Vanilla and Vanilla gift cards I have to renew sometime this week.

Also were you actually "banned" from the site or your access just cut off for non-payment?

As a general note, IF I were to have problems "paying" I would send the helpdesk a note asking for assistance. It is in their best interest to "collect the money" and help you pay.

Not sure what else to add. Others state they have used "Vanilla" cards in the past. I can't confirm or refute that from my experience. I have only used a [b]OneVanilla[/b] card and had success each time. From what I read on this thread, the "best" gift card is the [b]OneVanilla[/b] card. YMMV.

I had a short arrangement w / a woman whose hubby was definitely a spook. Ex-military, went 'overseas' for trips periodically, couldn't tell her where, was out of contact. I worried about that one. He could have gotten the NSA to figure out what I was doing and who I was. Otherwise, standard precautions should be fine.

I have seen that before. My theory is that either someone reported them as under-age or the site independently concluded they were underage. That triggers what I call the nuclear reaction. They delete the profile, any messages and any other evidence that the person was ever on the site.

They can delete the messages on their end, before removing their profile, which also zaps them from our inbox. I've had it happen when their profile is still active. For whatever reason she just didn't want the conversations logged any longer. You can start messaging again to get a new thread started.

Or can I use American Express Prepaid card?
