Yep, it's easy enough with smart phones nowadays. Simply flip the camera so that you can see what you're filming etc and hold it in one hand etc. I have had numerous girls take control of the camera and do that. I would never send a face photo because, simply, you never know who is on the other computer or why they ask. I've always declined, and offered to meet somewhere for a drink instead. Some do, some don't.
