In my own (admittedly lame) attempts to research the issue, I did run across one thing that stuck out in my mind. It seems that the main issue you have with sending any 'intimate' type pic via phone (or I suppose any medium really) is the unknown variable on the receiver's end.

I realize this is paranoid, but bear with me a little. There are some people (LEO and non-LEO) who think hobbyists are the greatest of all evils. And almost any means of tricking / harassing / exposing / punishing them are morally justified. Honeypot traps are laid by uncle LEO and even some private citizen crusaders to try and trip them up. Usually there are clues if you look, but some can be convincing.

So envision a scenario where one of these folks uses a number registered to a minor to initiate one of these exchanges. The sad truth is that it really doesn't matter much what they did to try and entrap you (except maybe once you get to the point of lawyers and court and legal specifics. And lets be clear, once it's gotten this far, you more than likely have been exposed and faced some pretty serious consequences in the process), the vast majority of opinion is going to be strongly against you.
