If you think that you can just drive a SWer to a drug treatment center and she is going to just say thank you and get out of the car and check herself in, you know nothing about addiction. Most likely, she will freak out. A cup of coffee, a meal at McDonalds, a couple extra bucks is the best you are going to do. I have been around addiction for over three decades and seen it first hand.

But if you know anything about addiction, giving any amount of money that would enable an addict to buy their drug of choice is only sending them deeper into their misery. So the most compassionate thing you can do is not patronize them. Having sex with them and then getting them a Happy Meal is all about the client feeling better about themselves. It doesn't help the one with curse of addiction.

And let's drop the who has the most "street cred" crap. Everyone on this forum is an expert, has been doing this for 30 years and in five different continents blah blah blah. Who give a rats ass

Stickman, great advice if this was the "Lets save a SW" forum. But the default assumption for this forum is that we are all degenerates trying to get laid. With that in mind, showing them a little kindness in any form (as Anthony suggests) is better than nothing. Some of them will see you as a sap and try to take advantage, but some will appreciate it and feel a little more human and less like a piece of meat.

I happen to know a lot about the disease of addiction and you can't just drive an addict to a treatment center and think they're going to be okay with it. That is an absolutely ludicrous statement! An addict has to hit a bottom and be ready to go to treatment before it will work, and many times they relapse anyway.

Vegas.[/QUOTE]I appreciate your putting this in context for what it is. And that's all it is. A degenerate's version of an act of kindness. As far as any lasting effect, I think not. When acts of kindness (a McDonalds meal or coffee if you will) are framed by a transaction, the transaction part pretty much nullifies the sense of good will being imparted. And when the recipient is a drug addict, and the transaction is sex, it is more likely to have the opposite effect.

All you're doing is validating even further that selling their body and buying drugs is working. It's pretty hard to feel less like a piece of meat in that scenario.
