The "rooms" are walls that don't go all the way up and curtains. It's a voyeur's paradise if you're into hearing everything. As for cleanliness, it's no worse and no better than any strip mall place. On the shutdowns. If instead of arresting girls or customers, they are using permit violations and the like to shut places down, and if the places where they are prioritizing enforcement are the ones with clear trafficking issues who are doing things like zip-tying girls wrists together...

I think the best way to combat trafficking is to make sex work legal. But until that happens, I still don't want to have to wonder if the girl is there because she's afraid for her life.

Is just what they use for a BS excuse to close places and sensationalize what they are doing.
