LE to Focus on Sex Trafficing
Take note of article below. Careful my friends. Would love to hear insights from the True Senior Members.
Hundreds of law enforcement officials are gathering in Catonsville this week to work on the problem of human sex trafficking in Maryland.
The state is said to have become an attractive area for criminals because of the network of interstate highways and local hotels close to BWI.
The two day conference aims to stengthen and better coordinate the enforcement systems designed to combat trafficking.
Taking part are Gov. O'Malley, USA Attorney Rod Rosenstein, officials from Homeland Security, the FBI, and local police departments, plus victim's assistance centers.
The conference is being held at the Community College of Baltimore County.
'Here in Maryland, we've set the goal of reducing violence against women and children 25 percent by the end of the year," Gov. O'Malley said.
"And though we are making progress, the loss of even one life is one life too many just as the loss of even one of Maryland's children to a life of prostitution, is one child too many. That's why working together with agencies and organizations we are committed to combating human trafficking and focusing on identifying and protecting victims," Gov. O'Malley said.
