And this is not "scientific" by any means, but the thing that I've found is that there seems to be a higher percentage of fakes on switter than on other sites like backpage, at least for this area and the "fakes" are a bit harder to spot. You assume that if person A "follows" person B that it means that person A has either seen person B or is considering it. What if person A is the type of person that just "follows" everyone that follows them? All of those are reasons that a person might "follow" someone that I know are true in some cases. That is to say, all of those reasons have been used as reasons to "follow" someone that differs from your assumption.
