It's been in use for at least 15 years, and anybody in health care knows about it. The procedure is horrible--The drugs have terrible side effects: The worst headaches ever, puking, total exhaustion. Figure you'll be out of commission for four weeks.

Depending upon your age, it definitely beats the alternative. Say for example your are in your late 50's you might die of cancer or a heart attack before you lasted the 10-15 years to develop AIDS, so you wouldn't want to endure this treatment, but if you were in your 20's or 30's you would definitely do it.
