For newbies and/or lurkers, the picture I posted with the white top comes up with hits from another city (New England?) I use Google images for reverse image searches. Others use Tineye. Maybe there are others?
To answer the first part - pic and numbers in a advert. Yes, that could be enough. This can be just a site like "Ask" one off, anon Q&A.
Problem is that there are a whole bunch of posts like that and the replies all tend to say "she" or "her." Kinda hard to use any of the reviews in retrospect with no reference points. That's fine I guess, but traditionally the value of the site has been the history left behind. So a girl disappears and reemerges a few months later, the one thing that doesn't change is her face, tats and other physical attributes. Also with her name in the record others can do a search, find info and decide to see her. Otherwise, each member needs to sit here, click on external links and make sure they comment right away. So far, in our small state, doesn't look like answers come that fast.
As far as experience goes. I had to learn the hard way to use the experience of others on this site, rather than go through a few more scrapes. Nothing wrong with being ignorant (unknowledgeable) as education is the "cure!" Every time I think I know it all is when I tend to find trouble. There is so much collective knowledge here on "how to" it would be a shame to eschew that in favor of the "School of Hard Knocks. ".

Buying a cheap $20 flip phone with cash and some prepaid cards really goes a long way. Especially if you have a snooping old lady!

In a secret hidden spot. Even if a SO found it, no way to incriminate. Just a phone I found somewhere.

I was going with a burner kept at my work office. Since we transitioned to being remote 3 days a week, it is harder to get access. So I am hoping to find a secure alternative.

I know a dude who was a great contributor here. We exchanged text #s and often traded RT intel on street girls or others we were dating. I use a burner and Google Voice. (another one is TextNow) He just used an app on his IRL phone. There would be times when a cell would drop him and when he called back using the app his IRL number came through. It happened quite frequently. Pretty much what OP mentioned below. So one needs to consider that when making a decision.
Second, the reason the dude is no longer with us is that while his wife was borrowing his phone, even though the app was disabled (numbers blocked) it let one of his dates calls through. Wifey talking to prostitute, you have been seeing, can be a VERY expensive mistake.
So from this chair it only makes sense to fully COMPARTMENTALIZE your IRL from your hobbying. Burner phone, app on the burner. Keeps you free from the scammers and blackmailers and provide safety from the SO snooping. So many things out there that not everyone thinks of but have seen happen that forms the basis of the opinion offered.
Oh and for goodness sake, turn off the location stuff on the burner phone. Only time I use it is when away from home or normal route and then to use GPS to find a place, but turn it off as soon as place is found.
Why not a hiding place for the burner? Inside tool bag next to the spare tire? What are the chances the SO is going to be changing a flat tire on YOUR car? Maybe a mechanic dropped it while servicing the car? Maybe you put it there in case of an accident where the regular phone was destroyed?
