If you did a search, you would find Tagged is a website where people meet.
MikeOldman probably does not care whether you care or not.
Try an be nice to new people. Cut them some slack. Everyone has something to offer. And everyone was new at some point.
I'm always nice to people, especially those looking to contribute. Having said that, it's good to see you looking out for a guy who comes in here with his one and only post to basically promote another site. Good job Capt. Save-A-Bro! I'm sorry, that wasn't very nice.
Btw, regardless of how it sounded, I wasn't trying to be mean to the guy either. I was actually hoping the guy would produce a little more dialogue to flesh out whether or not he was sincere and might explain the resource since the search I DID in fact do, only produces a page that wants me to JOIN. But instead he made one post about another website and then bupkis.
Hell, in reality the poster probably IS, Pinkybee420. LOL.

About Pinkybee420 I've come across her in a few websites such as AFF and POF. She's like everywhere (I guess that means I'm everywhere too)! I believe she's genuine but I have to add that I haven't had any dealings with her.
If you did a search, you would find Tagged is a website where people meet.
Don't you think that the person asking the question should have explained what Tagged is? I would think so.

I could be wrong but I really doubt if we'll hear from him again. And if we do hopefully it might actually be a contribution or two.
Don't you think that the person asking the question should have explained what Tagged is? I would think so.
I don't think so. Tagged is a popular website that is known to many. It is totally understandable why he wouldn't think it is necessary to explain what it is.
I sure hope that he gets over it and it's nothing that will scar him for life.
That's not the point. Believe it or not most people here have lives outside this forum so yes, he won't be scarred for life. I don't know what USASG means to everybody else, but for me, I consider it a data bank. Treating first time or new contributors harshly could deter others from contributing which could in turn deprive us of useful information.

Newbies
My point being that he was NOT harsh to the poster at all.
About three years ago, I posted my first review. It was a glowing report on my visit with CMT Jasmine. It was so glowing, in fact, that the moderator wouldn't permit it because he thought I was CMT Jasmine. After a couple more lousy posts, I got a pm from a monger that called himself LonelyGuy. He suggested that I read at least the last year worth of posts to get a flavor for each of the boards and volunteered his help if I had any specific questions. Because of his guidance, I became an active contributor. I think it is helpful for some of us with hundreds of posts to remember our first three or four.
Treating first time or new contributors harshly could deter others from contributing which could in turn deprive us of useful information.
I don't think what was posted was contributing. But I was not trying to be harsh. Sarcastic, yes. Harsh, no.
IMO as a very first post, it would be nice to at least hear something that offers some sort of info. He uses Tagged. What is tagged? Does it give a lot of info? Reviews? Reliable? Easy to use? Etc.
I offered the opportunity by asking directly, "What the hell is tagged and why should I care?" Had someone thrown that down to me, they'd have gotten a response.
We don't have a TAGGED section. So maybe not everyone does know anything about it and I'm pretty internet savvy. That tag is totally new to me.

Like I said in a prior post I'd be vey surprised to hear from him again. But there is no way to slow down the ankle biters about your cruel reply to the ONE time non contributing question asker.

Instead of: "I've never heard of Tagged. Help us out. How did you hear about it? What else have you heard? The better-than-all-others Senior mentality shot back with, essentially: "What the fuck is it and why the hell should I care you useless one-posting time waster?" Those may not have been the words, but that's the attitude that was conveyed. Intended or not. And it was reinforced by the other better-than-all-others Seniors.
There was a post not so long ago from Admin2:
This type of forum only works when people contribute. It only grows better when more and more people contribute. Open criticism of someone's honest effort, even if you don't like his style, will possibly chase that guy away. Worse, is it will probablly chase many guys away that might have been encouraged to start contributing valuable info.
A few years ago the Philly forum was extremely active. One of the most descriptive members (superelequent) was 'outed' by another monger who had a grudge, and for the most part the forum fell apart. It still has activity, but many people that were starting to contribute really good info left. It's a shadow of what it was. So be careful to not let that type of negativity ruin what you have here.
[blue]I agree with the above and if somebody is doing that please use the "Report Post" button so I can take care of it. There are advantages to being a Senior Member, one of them being that your posts are unmoderated. Anybody who is taking advantage of that to be a douchebag will be placed back on moderation.
There are no rules against asking questions or being new, there are rules about flaming other members. New guys cost a fuckload of money to attract, running them off will not be tolerated.
A2[/blue]
Did the guy provide useful info? Maybe not 100%, but he brought up "Tagged" which some of you seem to have heard of, but many others (including myself) have not. I'm sure many of the better-than-all-others group is okay with beating kids when they fuck up as a simple means to teach them a lesson. It's not "harsh", they just need to learn. Based on Admin2's response above, I'm thinking that this way of thinking probably isn't the direction he's wishing this forum to head.

Good comment. I agree with you 100%.
I can recall on another occasion a new guy to the forum asked where streetwalkers walk in MKE. He was told by a senior that he could not be trusted with that information. Go figure!
Perhaps if some of the seniors still don't get it, Admin perhaps should decide if the comment is harsh. Then perhaps some of the seniors would receive the same spanking that they occasionally dole out to newbies.

Another just-a-thought
This is the age of entitlement and everyone thinks they are can get something for nothing. Unfortunately that's not true here by the vary nature that for the most part we are all looking to pay for something.
Probably the best things to do would be a link for a how-to-post as well as how-to-ask for information.
Maybe anytime we start a new topic we provide a link. It would be much more helpful and then anytime someone new comes into USAG they would see that and hopefully figure it out.
In the case of our first time poster. I don't think it was too harsh. Simple steps that should have been taken could have prevented this whole mess.
1. Reviewing the forum to see how it operates would.
1 a Show no mention of Tagged.
1 b Show that you generally need to give if you want to receive.
1 c Show no mention of Pinkybee420.
1 d Show that discussions on an unknown are best done with a link to the person.
Just providing the link to her Tagged profile.
http://www.tagged.com/profile.html?view=mini&uid=6022803870
Would have told the people who she is and what Tagged is.
