Since this is the sort of stuff I do for a living, it really doesn't put me out. It's part of my normal workflow.

It uses a VMWare algorithm. It's designed for admins to restrict access to features or data on the VM. It does encrypt the entire machine, including the virtual disks.
The guy earlier talking about using "tails" is also a great solution, if you want to boot your computer with a USB. I just chose a different path because I don't want to do that every time I go online for this particular activity.

I had no idea that VM Ware had that capability and can see where it would be great at the mansion. I could set up a VM for new guests at the computer in the common area. Then we wouldn't have to fuck around with CC Cleaner and all that shit. They could install whatever software they wanted and I wouldn't have to worry about them fucking up the host machine.
I don't know if this was available in Workstation 7 which was the last one I ever used. I was using VM's to create networks to check if patches were being installed correctly for NIST.
I especially like that you can set an expiration date. Most of our guys would only be using them for a week to a month so licensing wouldn't be an issue.

Is the option to create disks or base machines that are non-persistent. So when guest number 1 starts it up and does whatever, then turns it off, the next guest starts it with a fresh image. There are so many options with cloning, snapshots, etc. It's quite versatile.
